The people who work here are very friendly, however, the cake we received was very poorly decorated. We asked to have "Happy Birthday Thelma" written across the cake but it was written uneven, crooked, and very sloppy. I feel as though I can definitely do a better job and unfortunately I'll have to do just that. I'm disappointed that there was no quality check on this cake. I cannot speak for how the cake tastes yet, but appearance wise- it's not good.**Edit** The cake tasted great, so my only issue is the poor decorating. I did preorder this cake; I ordered it over the phone the day before I picked it up. The kind woman on the phone actually suggested the writing of "Happy Birthday" and said it could be done so of course I agreed. Also, I'm sure I would have said something at the time of pick up, but when they lifted the lid to show me the final product, I could barely see anything because the counter is so high. I just assumed it would be great and let them seal the box. I didn't truly see the cake until we were already headed home. I appreciate you reaching out though! It would seem I was just unlucky with my experience.

McKay’s always has the cutest stuff pre made!! I love being able to stop in and pick up little treats to surprise my sister with when she’s having a bad day.

Ordered a carrot cake for my mother’s 76th birthday. I requested a Happy Birthday greeting for her special day, paid for delivery, as I live near Houston. I thought I was ordering from the Best bakery in Abilene. I was assured there would Not be any concerns regarding my requests!! Well, not so. It had a typical swab of orange icing that we’re all familiar with, NO GREETING, the cake was poorly iced ( you saw more cake than icing)and was delivered near 5:00pm. My request was noon as she doesn’t usually answer her door after 4:00. Well, when she called the next day, speaking with who she was told was the bakery owner, he listened to her concerns and told her if she didn’t like it to go to ANOTHER BAKERY and hung up on her. Well, I did and I suggest you take his advice and DO THE SAME~GO TO ANOTHER BAKERY!!!
