I do not know if they switched owners? Cooks? Supplier? Food was horrible. Instead of Red Chili or Asado/ it was chicken out of a can and enchilada

Was passing through Alpine and needed a quick dinner, chose this place. Someone's abuela would be very upset, I'll say that much. I'm a Texas native, I know Tex-Mex, and heck I even know cheap and easy Tex-Mex. This was not cheap, and was pretty low quality. The guacamole was cut with sour cream (weird, but would've been nice to have a heads up on), the flautas were microwaveable type taquitos, and the overall quality of the food was pretty low. It's obvious this place needs some spices, and some life breathed into it. I sincerely hope they turn things around and just improve the quality of the food. Staff was really sweet and friendly, but unless things change, we probably won't swing by the next time we're in town.

Food was disappointing. The guacamole salad was more sour cream than guacamole. Service and atmosphere was good, but I’ll go elsewhere next time.

Excellent food, great service, we'll off the beaten path but don't worry it's good.
If you’re staying in, passing through, or anywhere near Alpine, you’ve got to check out La Casita! It’s a hole in the wall neighborhood restaurant that appears to cater to mostly locals. Within 30 seconds of seating myself I had a basket of fresh tortilla chips and fresh made salsa…you’d better be ok with spicy because it is!I opted for one of the house specialties, the Mexican Plate. It’s a lot of food…two tacos, three enchiladas (beef, chicken or cheese), rice and beans. The tacos are filled with flavorful ground beef, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and freshly grated cheese. These were some of the best taco shells I’ve ever had…light, crispy and a great fresh corn flavor. I could have eaten a half dozen.I had the beef enchiladas and they were filled with the same great tasting ground beef found in their tacos. The enchilada sauce had the subtle flavors of sautéed onions and garlic in a mild red chili sauce. They were covered in gooey melted cheese, as were the homemade refried beans. If you’re looking for great Tex-Mex food in the Alpine area you should check out La Casita.

Had dinner there on our way out of Big Bend in late December. It’s a cozy lil diner just off the main drag of the town. Service was prompt and the fajita plate was delicious! Just a heads up - it’s a cash only place. Bring your dineros.

Super nice staff, incredible food, really fast too. My enchiladas were honestly the best I've had in forever. Bring cash, be hungry, be nice! They are honestly a must stop when in town!

Like most of the other reviews say, you won't be disappointed at La Casita! It is a true local food spot. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the food! IT IS A CASH ONLY BUSINESS. TAKE CASH!! Wonderful food, fast and very friendly service! It was extremely crowded when we went, which was close to closing time, but they got us seated, took drink orders, and we were only able to finish one basket of chips and salsa before our order came out. Highly recommend and would return!
