PENNY'S DINER. Where do I begin. As soon as I was greeted by Danica, I knew that I was in for a treat. She radiated positive energy, and I could tell that she was professional and about her business. I was greeted immediately upon arrival, and sat promptly. My waitress arrived with haste, and made sure we knew the specials! One thing I noticed hastily was how the menu was beautiful, and not an online scanner link. Danica, if you see this, I want you to know that breakfast was the most gratifying, satisfying, and unforgettable experience of my entire life! Your food was prepared exquisitely, and the atmosphere was nothing short of exemplary. If you want fast service, great food, and amazing food in the most beautiful city in America -- It sounds like Penny's diner is for you!

A quick turn from excited to try this cute little diner to disappointment in rude welcome and left. Not sure if we will ever return. We went down the street to Magoo's and it was a friendly place with a good classic breakfast.

Waitresses sit around and talk all the while one lone cook does it all. Took almost an hour to get our food. I have no idea how it will taste because we have not received it yet.

Excellent service and food. We were unsure because of the ratings and I'm glad we took a chance. Both of our meals, chicken fried steak and Hamburger steak with onions and mushrooms, were large portions and full of flavor. We will definitely eat here again.

Ordered the chicken fried steak but they told me they were out. Then I ordered a Rueben sandwich with fried. The menu said it came in rye (like Rueben sandwiches are supposed to. It came on a sandwich roll and I got tater tots instead of fries. My water was empty before the waitress delivered the food and it never got refilled the whole time I was there. The service was awful. I was with two other people and we each got our food about 10 minutes apart despite being the only people in the restaurant. The server never checked if we needed anything and would just drop our food on the table and walk away.

Chicken fried steak and tater tots. Enough said. However the salad could use a little help but the dressings were very good. Nice little local diner. Plus open when nothing else in town is.
If you're hungry and it's after ohhh let's say 8pm this is the place to go (it is also basically the only place to go) especially if cooking is not an option. It is ALWAYS understaffed and the quality will depend solely on who is the current cook... which changes all the time because it's ALWAYS understaffed. I've had a few good meals here and some I would not eat. (Food safety... is not one of the priorities.) Have some fries- be thankful your not starving and just don't sit at the counter.
We went during a quiet time, so service was awesome (not sure how it is when busy) and food was great! I had breakfast for dinner (chicken fried eggs, hash browns, toast and pancakes). Pancake are huge! The reason I give 4 is I was slightly disappointed the chicken fried steak was a pre-made frozen patty, but the grease used was fresh and it was cooked perfectly. I'd give a 4.5 to be honest.

Went in this morning for what we figured would be a basic “dinner breakfast “ after reading some of the negative reviews but whoever made them must have zero taste buds because… we were absolutely blown away!! My husband’s omelette was out of this world delicious!! He has never in the 30 years I’ve been married to him said that someone else food was better than what I make, BUT this young cook named Marshal dang sure can!! Had a group of 19 youth,and it took three hours till the last of us got our food ,,and they served others who came in later first, I actually saw people walk out with togo boxes when part of our group had no food, I almost went and served myself coffee, they have now hiring signs up so I believe they could benefit from some more help .when the food finally came it was Good !
