Great little spot that you might not easily catch. Loved the decor and zydeco background. Gator tips, boudin balls and jambalaya all recommended. If you can't decide, get a flight of three.

Food was not as good as a cajun restaurant. No seafood or sausage in seafood gumbo..looking like bland gravyAnd rice. The shrimpAnd blackened shrimp-should have seasoning at least. Only thing going was the grits were not stiff. If you want authenticGo to Louisiana bc this is where you learn food and not wanna be. I'm from Louisiana and every one I know stated the same about the food. Chain food

Was in Amarillo for work and happened to see a Cajun restaurant so of course I’m gonna try it who doesn’t love Cajun food? Hospitable staff and delicious food here. Will be back next time my job sends me to Amarillo.

The food was burnt tasting but undercooked, like the fryer was way too hot. My wife got the Alfredo and it was very bland. I went because this place had great reviews and I was disappointed. The service wasn't all that great either.

UPDATE 2024: Food is still great! The ambience has softened to a well loved cajun road side restaurant. And they changed the chairs... and they are great for wide loads! ?2020: Loved the food! They bring out a taster sample of each of the signature dishes... but... their chairs are not fat girl friendly and the ambience is a little harsh, like we expected lower lighting and it felt like Walmart instead. Great waitress!

Great highway stop. Nice & spicey. Plenty of food. Wonderful wait staff. Thank you all. Boudin would be a welcome addition (if the owners are reading).

Who orders oysters in north TX? That was our second mistake. The first was walking into the Lost Cajun to begin with. Traveling across country and looking for a place to grab something to eat on our overnight in Amarillo we ended up here. Reviews were 50/50 but we took a chance. There is a cocktail list but no one knew how to make any of the cocktails so we stuck with beer. There were charbroiled oysters on the menu so that sounded good. Those came out and just looked bad from the beginning. I downed all 6 and they were without a doubt the worse scariest oysters I ever had. I should have stopped at 1 and sent them back. They were just bad, and prepared bad. Our entrees were bland and tasteless. We got the sample board and should have not gone any further. There was nothing on there that tasted like anything we ever had in Cajun country. Everything was bland, cold and without any flavor. The "cat tu fe" catfish was not bad but the etufe part was horrible. Again bland, cold and just bad. The pieces of crawfish that were in there were green. The gumbo and Cajun classic trio was dry and pasty and again without taste or flavor. This was a horrible dining experience and the one of us that had the oysters was sick for over a week afterwards. The Lost Cajun should stay lost and be shut down by the health department. Avoid this restaurant if you are traveling through Amarillo!Follow up to this review. The owner left his number and asked that we call like they do for all bad reviews apparantly so we did.......no return call after 4 days. Not sure what they would do but the decision to eat here ruined my Christmas holiday. Plenty of other choices in Amarillo!

Loved the atmosphere and service, but my seafood gumbo rice did not even hit the surface of the bowl, and I got three tiny cuts of a loaf of bread, I finished my bread in three tiny bites.Super disappointing because the service was fantastic, waiters were quick and the big group I was in everyone seemed to enjoy their food as well. Atmosphere was fun and loved the location.

Meh! The service was very friendly and attentive. The food, however, is what one should expect from an Amarillo restaurant passing itself as "Cajun". The founder's bona fides not withstanding, the sampler (a nice feature) was our first clue that this would be a bland, sorry excuse for cajun cuisine. Disclaimer: We did not order any of the fried fish options. The table next to us did and they looked quite good. If fried is your jam go for it! If not, take a pass
