I had a sensational experience at Este recently. Everything I had was absolutely smashing. The tamarind agua Fresca was lightly sweet and refreshingly sour. I tad the tuna tiradito and am still thinking about the charred allium sauce it was served with. The swordfish tacos were a revelation, the batter was similar to a light and crispy tempura. The lime semifreddo was a creative take on a key lime pie, and the mango tamarind gelato was real treat. I sat at the bar by myself, so I got to chat with the staff throughout my meal. They were attentive and clearly passionate about their work, and most importantly, I could tell from the way they interacted with one another that Este fosters a thoughtful and supportive culture. They were so helpful and gracious with each other, acting as a real team. I was so impressed overall, and I can’t wait for my next visit!

Service was excellent. Cocktails were special. Don’t sleep on the less adventurous items (pork carnitas and fish tacos) but also get the adventurous items too (they had a tamarind grilled whole shrimp dish that was eaten like a soft shell crab that was uniquely delightful).RIP Eastside Cafe (the former fame to table restaurant that was here) but it was nice to see they kept the garden.

My friend and I made reservations during their short lived happy hour from 5-6. The wine list here is quite impressive, but I opted to try out their various margaritas. The tropical was definitely my favorite. They also have various food options for happy hour, so we shared the guacamole, fish tacos, tostada de trucha, and ceviche. The guacamole was good even though I’ll never understand the trend of giant tortilla chips at high end restaurants. The ceviche was fresh. The tostada was my least favorite item, and the fish tacos were my favorite. While I enjoyed my experience here, I’m not sure I would go back simply because the expense of it all. Happy to have gone at least once though!Parking: There doesn’t seem to be a parking lot. Just complimentary valet.

We had such a great experience! My husband and I had a great date night. The foods were plated beautifully. They all tasted very good. I personally love the tuna tiradito and fish tacos very much.

Sad state of affairs. Very disappointing.We had high hopes. But alas, not so.I'm afraid this is what Austin has turned into. Inflated prices for small helpings and mediocre food.Austin has become yuppified; all hype and extremely over rated - which is why I'm so glad I do not live there anymore. It used to be an incredible place to call home. I absolutely loved Austin.$18.00 for a bowl of guacamole! $35.00 for the pork! Serously. And, $19.00 for fish tacos! Este, you should be ashamed. And, all of our dishes were quite insipid I have to say.Myself and my friends all cook better food.It's obvious that for the yuppies this is their style. It's their place to be seen and hang out. Do they have more money than sense, or zero tastebuds - or both? I guess they must assume the higher the price, the higher the quality?I'm truly disgusted to be honest at the audacity the owners have of charging such exorbitant prices for such mediocre, small portioned food. Service was attentive though and our waiter was professional, and friendly. The overall atmosphere was muted and just so, so.

We ordered several appetizers and entrees to share family style, and the waitress brought them out sequentially like a five course meal. I appreciated her attention to detail and emphasis on providing a good experience.Highlights were the spinach quesadilla, the trout, and the ceviche.

What I tasted had amazing flavor. Best cocktails I have ever had. My only complaint is shrimp should absolutely have the shell removed, I have traveled and eaten shrimp all over the world and I haven’t ever seen it where it can’t be removed, or had it prepared where you eat the shell. The shrimp meat itself was AMAZING flavor I was dying to get all the meat off, but I couldn’t get around the texture of the plastic feeling of the shrimp shell.

After seeing the article in the New York times, I was super excited to try this place. However, the food was very underwhelming. The atmosphere was nice and the service was great.But the taste fell flat.

Left satisfied - great place to bring friends and family visiting from out of town if you’re looking for a freshly curated, uniquely-designed menu. Shoutout to Prisilla for her kind, patient, and ultimately warm service. Will be back again!

Our Waiter Ray and Bartender Patrick were so amazing !!! I spilled something on my bf and Ray had a tide pen to give to us which was so nice and extra of her!!! Patrick serves up the best drinks and they both made me us smile with their energy !! We love Este and will always be loyal customers!! The bar and the food are incredible!
