This is the worst bar I have ever been to . The staff and management is unbelievably rude. A friend planned to have an event here, and they canceled on him last minute. everything about this place is lame and you should never think about going here.

Great place to hang out and have some tasty snacks. Montreal fries were delicious and disappeared quick! I loved the cheese and meat board, very unique! Pop corn was fantastic and the pretzel was perfect with their delicious homemade mustard!!! The smokey rye specialty drink was superb especially with the garnish ❤️Parking: Lots of spots but may have to walk some

Female server had refused to accept valid Texas driver's license. Exhibited condescending tone throughout the encounter due to confusion over a vertical id. Because she was seemingly unable to read a vertical id, she outright refused our party service and furthermore refused to acknowledge communication from DPS proving my age. Never before in Austin have I felt more disrespected by a business. I will never again consider coming back to Schoolhouse Pub.

Walked by here on Valentine's Day and had to come in after we saw the sign on the door. They were doing the cutest, low key v-day event ever. They had themed cocktails and a food special but everything else was the normal price plus a chocolate fountain, decorations, and romcoms playing. I seriously could not have been happier to avoid the expensive chaos of Valentine's Day and come to a comfy spot with nice staff and solid drinks and food. Thank you all so much for making our day!

Burger was undercooked and the soggy fries were not my favorite. Maybe just come here to drink. The vibe tho i thought was pretty cool with all school

It's our first time in Austin. We were staying about three blocks away, got a bit of the thirst last night. A bit peckish as well. So we searched for a place within walking distance and the School House Pub popped up. Tucked in on Manor Road with some other eating and drinking establishments next to and across the street. They have a nice heated outdoor area, which we did not sit in, but we walked through. Comfy even though the temperature was in the lower 50's. Inside is a good neighborhood vibe. Good music, and not so loud that you can't talk; just right. There are about 10 bar seats supplemented by a number of 2 and 4 tops sprinkled throughout the room. The menu is interesting and not too large. One choice for burgers, chicken, a couple of salads, etc. if you are not sitting at the bar you order drinks and your food, then you pick your table. Fairly quickly your food arrives hot. Tuck into and you love it! And the drink menu has all of the usual suspects, plus some creative and tasty creations that someone there dreamed up. And they don't rob you, another plus. Long story short - fair prices, good food, nice selection of drinks. You should go! Soon!

Shrimp sliders, not worth $18. Muted flavors Fries with the cod and the fries with the sliders two separate batches. Dropped by this East side jewel with some friends for lunch and had a wonderful time. The bartender recommended some great drinks; we had the Wassail drink and it was delicious. Best dishes of the day were the Mac n cheese and the chicken fried chicken. The Mac had cheddar and Parmesan and perfectly crisped pancetta. And the portion for the chicken fried chicken was substantial! (See attached photo). Definitely coming back for the fish n chips. There was a small issue with one of our dishes but the staff and manager handled it wonderfully. Great atmosphere, decent dishes (I'd skip the shrimp sliders tbh as the flavors were a bit muted.) One of my fav places to hang out with a few friends.

Well, I was in the mood for poutine so on today’s walk I didn’t know where I would end up. I saw School House Pub might have some so I ventured inside. Don’t worry, it’s coming back next week!I was might by the chillest bartender Mauricio & he even gave me a slight “don’t worry, it looks like you’re flustered” talk as I approached the bar. He told me the fish and chips as well as the Crawford Bock were on happy hour. Of course I had to have both. I was also in the mood for cauliflower wings and I hit it big here! The food was incredible despite the French fries being overdone. The vegan ranch was delicious and the tartar sauce was unique but not in left-field.The conversation I had with Mauricio was great—it was nice to exchange similar opinions on how East Austin’s restaurant scene has changed. He poured me some of his favorite mezcal over ice and it was delicious. The atmosphere was great and super laid back. It was cool to see some Día de los Muertos decor and people from Britain in the bar. I can’t wait to go back!
