If you want or need some down home cooking in Cuero this is the best place to go to. Except they're only open from 7 to 2 I believe and closed on Saturday and Sunday.

Maybe I had a rare experience but this was probably the worst meal I ate since eating food over in Afghanistan on a post in the middle of no where.Noodles were overcooked to the point of mush.Veggies were overcooked to the point of mush.Even the meat was flavorless.Coffee was watered down and tasteless.Salad was some expiring greens on a plate with a wedge of tomato.The best part of the meal was the saltines…. Which were prepackaged.

We had the lunch specials and one, they were delicious and 2, they where just the right size, and 3, they were budget friendly. The staff was extremely friendly and nice. The atmosphere was rustic and barnyard-sheek (is that a word?) And it was perfect. Tons of retired locals, ranchers, and farmers were all chowing down together, laughing and joking with each other.

Nice and cozy little place. I've always had a great experience when dining in. I usually stop in for breakfast. I've been a couple of times for lunch. Service has been great since the first time I walked in. The server has always remembered my drink order since day one.Kid-friendliness: They have kid items. Did I mention they have fried pickels, my kids' favorite.Parking: Always plenty of parking even thought the place gets pretty busy around lunch time.
