So i have been complaining that theres no good food in Dallas since I have moved here from NY. Well I have finally found a spot that reminds me of home. The food here is absolutely delicious. I had the baked chicken...so juicy, well seasoned and fell right off the bone. The mac and cheese was delicious and light and the cabbage was very good. The place is very clean and the service was warm and welcoming. I wil definitely return at an earlier time since they close at 8pm so that i can truly enjoy the atmosphere. This restaurant is surely going to be very successful!
***HEADS UP FOR ANYONE COMING UP HERE MARCH 10TH - NO POT ROAST. I WAS SAD SO THOUGHT ID WARN ANYONE. This is my first time here. This place is called upscale but I am unsure of why. Nothing about this place is upscale. Hmmmm. So another heads upVery tiny place inside with maybe 4 or 5 tables with use of Styrofoam.Oki finally got my food. That otisserie Chicken was hitting with what I consider perfect collards and the cabbage was good too. My aunt got the chicken as well but with dressing she says it's good but could use a little more poultry seasoning for her liking. She said the yams are good but wishes for a little bit more sweetness and butter. She said the green beans and pecan pie were good too. So of course good food is subjective because taste buds vary. There's some people that could say they wish the cabbage was sweeter, whereas this cabbage isn't. Some people could say maybe they want more vinegar or peppers /more of a spicy flavor in their collards but overall I think it's a very good spot. We'll be back! No shade but still not sure where the upscale comes in at but maybe by having that in their name, they're manifesting for a nicer building. A MUCH larger nicer dining area with wait staff (cause we waited outside for 30min on our food) and a better neighborhood and no Styrofoam to go boxes. Service was good! Prices aren't even upscale which is great in these times. Ha!

I came here yesterday for the first time, I never go here. so I come in to order my food THE LADY THAT TAKES ORDERS WITH BRAIDS IN HER HEAD had a full blown attitude, she repeated my order real fast with a attitude, she turned the tablet real fast with a attitude asking for a tip like HELL NO and then she kept acting like she didn’t know what I ordered when she was the one who TOOK IT!!! and then both my plates were ready she calls me “MR” and says my last name.. she was being funny and ugly the whole time I will never order food from here again!!! customer service was so trash, not only that they weren’t serving anything on the menu and it was only 4:10 they close at 5 .. the cooks were okay they made sure I got my food, the lady was being a hater!!! I dry spent $32 with them and regret it. the food was okay she just pissed me off.

I recently dined at the Kendall Karson’s and was thoroughly impressed. The warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and, most importantly, a delectable dish made for a fantastic experience. From the perfectly seasoned chicken tetrazzini to the sautéed cabbage, and melt in your mouth yams, every bite felt like a comforting hug for the taste buds. The portions were generous, and the flavors were authentic, reminiscent of home-cooked meals. Whether you're a soul food enthusiast or a newcomer to the cuisine, this place is a must-visit for a soul-satisfying dining experience. First of all, PAY WITH CARD. I paid in cash, the cashier tried to get me to accept the few dollars back in nickels. I asked 20 minutes later when I would be getting the change, she said someone else would give it to me when my food was ready. Not the case for any other patron. I entered around 2:40 and didn’t get my food until 3:20.Several customers ordered after me and received their food before I did. Same items that I ordered. Not worth the hassle as you can see from the other reviews. What’s upscale about not giving your customers their change?

The food taste just like Grandma’s cooking. Great size portion and price is affordable. Hospitality is amazing and the atmosphere is very comforting.
Another joint. This food tasted like my grandmother's cooking. Need I say more? No, like really! If I tell you that it tastes like my grandmother's cooking, the conversation is over. The food will take you back to a time where we all ate at the table and you smelled the food from the car when you pulled up in the street.
