the explanation as to what is on your plate is fague. i asked how is my bistec waiter says cut in pieces i said ok when i got the plate came with 3 types of chiles and tons of onions and tomato. the amount of meat is nothing, couldn't even eat it since it was so spicy. ended paying 17 dlr just to eat 2 tacos of rice and beans.

The atmosphere and service was nice but the plate I got.... NOPE. I ordered panchos and I decided to try the ground beef panchos... I expected ground beef cooked on the pan, tostadito... well they used picadillo, I know because there was even a potato in there and it was mushy and wet and made the panchos soggy and the beef looked grey not dark... the chips were also a little stale...I have heard good things about this place... but I was bummed out at the plate I got because I felt like the cook took an easy way out on plating my order and it felt gross even eating it...everyone else at my table loved their food... it was just the panchos of ground beef.. they used the picadillo instead of cooking ground beef by itself...

I ordered a plate of carne guisada it had no flavor what so ever, beans were watery, little bit of rice and salad, flour tortillas were rubber, srry but this was just this week,my husband ordered chicken fajitas couple of pieces of chicken,in other words there was more bell peppers and onions with little bit of cheese just in the middle, the fajitas felt like when u reheat and reheat them over and over and just tossed in the plate the onions and bell peppers together with little bit of cheese , before it was really good food worth going back.

How incredible. Did it become easy for me to ask for permission to use the bathroom? Now this is a restaurant that when I have family that comes from above to visit here in the valley I brought them to this place to eat and why didn't I want to order something They denied me the bathroom and that's because they had a customer Waiting to be served What a shame And whoever likes it likes to eat here is fine but will never set foot in this business again

We have been going to Carmelita’s since they opened and LOVE the food! Always fresh and great! The prices have went up a little up but understandable! The owner always welcomes us and is on top of the restaurant!

My stepdad’s favorite and I can see why. Food made fresh and piping hot. The service is great and your coffee cup will never be empty. I hope that one day I’ll have a place like Carmelita’s to come to every morning to see my friends have delicious food, good conversation and great service.

A very homey restaurant hidden on a strip, immediately the atmosphere gave a very calming vibe. The staff is very kind but I felt bad because I think they told me I could sit wherever I would like twice but my Spanish is not great ?. For lunch I ordered their Fiesta platter (appetizer) and the Bistek Ranchero (main). The food itself was cooked to perfection though I've never had a Bistek Ranchero that was cooked like beef tips in stew before, it was still very tasty and easy on the stomach. My only down on the food is it could use a tiny bit more flavor to make the subtle tastes in the food pop. Please never stop improving.I've seen alot of comments when it comes to smaller restaurants that put such a high bar on food and would judge this place harshly. However what you have to take into account is that this place is not a fine dinning restaurant and does not have a staff of 30+ busting out tables left and right. Their food is however cared for and you can taste the passion that they have for cooking.
