Awesome experience. Great customer service mr jorge is awesome.. highly recommended
I travel for work! Went in and no one was up front to wait on me for about 10 mins I had to yell at them and go behind the counter. They are super dry.. I would NOT buy from here again!
A long time El Paso icon. Awesome tamales. George W Bush had them shipped in while president.
This place was highly recommended and after trying it and meeting the owner himself I had a very pleasant experience. The food is amazing and just perfect! Super friendly and great food ?
Greasiest menudo ive ever had.
My first Yelp review and totally worth it. Pepe's Tamales is where it's AT! I've tried a lot of tamales in El Paso and these are by far my favourites. The pork and red chile is just right. Often I find this variety too salty or too soupy at other places. This one had the perfect ratio of flavours and ingredients. The tamales are fluffy and still maintain that moist density that makes a tamale delicious. What made my taste buds leap with joy, though, was Hatch green chile and cheese tamale. The best I've had, hands down. The cheese was melty and not watery and (again) the ratio of cheese to chile and filling to tamal dough was perfect! The real star, though, is the owner! I could have chatted with him all day about food and family history and the joy of a good tamale.
I highly recommend trying the rajas (cheese and long green Chile) as well as the rojo. They are both very good. The green chicken ones would be good as well but the chicken is very dry.
After seeing the long lines for Menudo at my go to place Food City.... I decided I needed a new source for my menudo. Well I had gotten some tamales at my go to place for tamale's, Pepe's tamales... I noticed that they sold menudo on a Sat and Sunday. So why not.... well I'll tell you. Food City has good menudo, but Pepe's is better..Much better in fact. The only thing slightly lacking is Pepe's bread, the quality is good, but I prefer it buttered and toasted like food City does! Otherwise it's not close. Pepe's tamales is my new destination for menudo. Friendly staff too!
Great value, open early, easy access, nice owner, I would come back again if I was in the area and wanted something for the drive.
Good food good service.
Best Tamales. Drove across two states to get them. My dad specifically told me to go to Pepe's.
This is an El Paso staple and a must! From, green chicken, cheese and green chile, red, and sweet tamales, you can't go wrong.
The Champurrado is my favorite here?
Pepe's has very good tamales but they are charging a 4% surcharge when using a credit card. The bill they give you does not reflect the surcharge until you see your bank statement. This is fraud. Pepe's should be able to give you a receipt with the surcharge.
