Acceptable sushi for someone that is not on a time schedule. 1) Dining in takes too long. 2) Good luck calling in an order for take-out because they never answer their phone.

Waited five or more minutes before being asked if I had been helped.Watched as they helped two other customers right in front of me withouteven acknowledging me.I usually order from the Sushi Zen in the Coronado shopping center. I decided to dine in at the UTEP location for lunch after school. The glasses were were sticky both of them drink and refill. Ordered the lunch special 2 rolls and the chicken teriyaki and an order of fried oysters. No oysters so I ended up substituting it with fried calamari. Brought my plate out with no Wasabi no soy sauce, came back to ask if I want any . I never received my chicken teriyaki. When I order take out I get nice notes on my food and all. Just an all around terrible dining experience

This is a really good sushi place, especially for the convenience of price and location. I came here with my grandmothers and sister as a lunch break between classes and was not disappointed.The food was delicious and the portions were perfect for us to finish it up without too many leftovers. There isn't as much variety as another Sushi Zen that we've been to, but it is enough.As for the service, we were checked in on at a decent interval and I really appreciated that our server spoke Spanish as my grandmother does not understand English. There was a significant gap between the two entrees arriving but it's not too big a deal.My only complaint would be that the sushi itself, while pretty tasty, was not rolled very well. The breaded roll we had had the luck of being held together by the breading but the Philadelphia roll was kind of a mess. It had no effect on the flavor but it was a little annoying to pick up without breaking it.Overall though, for the price, it is a really good place to go if you have a break between classes.

Decent place! There is a good mix of food available. The Sushi selection is much smaller than other traditional Sushi Restaurants, but what food they do offer is worth it. The bulgogi was on point.The service was friendly, the food came quickly, and everything was tasty. Can’t really ask for any more than that!

Decent food for a decent price. Wr went to celebrate a coworker's birthday, only down side was the huge gaps in delivering the good to the table. Appetizers all came out at different times...main dishes all came out at different times. With 10-15 minute gaps. Some got the appetizers after the main dish. Service was not great and took almost 2 hours for lunch.

DO NOT order ramen from this shop. This is not Japanese ramen at all. instant noodle at best. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and it has no pork flavor. It also have odd ingredients such as carrots, zucchini, shiitake mushroom and onion.

Wonderful place with friendly staff and great atmosphere. It was nice to be able to take our time and not be rushed. The shrimp tempura was amazing. The breading was light and cooked perfectly. The salmon was great, and the sushi was perfect. Can't wait to go back, specially the shrimp tempura.

On one of the visits we were ignored, we were invited back and were made whole. But, yesterday we opted to show up to our favorite sushi place only to be confronted, and I say confronted because the lady not only looked upset that we were there, but told us that they close at 5:00 and it was 4:30ish even though the hours of operation showed they close at 9:00. Like the saying goes “fool my once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.” We didn’t even got an apology. So we’re done with this place we will never return. ????

If you value food safety, do not eat here. I watched the waiter use his bare hands to move the ginger on my plate as he was bringing it to me. He then had the audacity to argue that he didn't. Food was trash, I just hope the chef follows better food handling practices.
