I had to give restaurant one star in order to post comment. I want to give zero stars. My wife ordered 24 fried shrimp to go. When she got home they tasted like ammonia and when you remove the batter I can smell the ammonia. The smell or taste of ammonia is a sign that the shrimp was spoiled. She called the restaurant and they were willing to replace half of the order. They said that they did not receive any complaints today. We decided not to have half of the order replaced. We decided to make this negative comment. This restaurant is on the decline. This is the first time in my 56 yrs of life that I have had this experience.

This is a great place to take family. The food is not amazing, but still good. The restaurant is clean and the staff is very nice.The kid’s meal is a bargain and includes a snack, drink and toy for around $6. They also provide crayons and activity sheets.

Ate here for the very first time this past Friday and ordered the red snapper and got food poisoning please stay away from this restaurant im a very healthy 27 year old male that rarely gets sick . I’ve been throwing up bile for days and my stomach hurts really bad I’m cramping haven’t ate in days due to this food poisoning I’ve lost 6lbs because I haven’t been eating and been throwing up nonstop please do not eat here I’ve eaten at many places in the DFW area and this was by far one of the worst experiences ever

**EDIT** After contact the "owner at the number they provided me, I still haven't heard anything.Let me preface this by saying I love the flying fish! I've never had a bad meal there until tonight. Typically I do eat in at the location whether it be Garland or Plano, but tonight I was picking some up to bring home to me and my family. They need to update their workers on how to package food for to go orders, because when I got home they had placed a box on top of the tub of rice on top of the gumbo. This made the lid of the gumbo cave in and the gumbo spilled out all throughout the bag as well as all over my leather seats. As I was going to have the gumbo for dinner, I was left with no food to eat because the big platter order was divided between three other people. There was literally nothing to spare and so I paid for food I couldn't eat and delivered food for others and it cost me money. Very disappointed, this is not what I expect from this location or this chain.

First time visitor. I tried the po boy loaf - bbq's shrimp. It was okay. Since it was my first day in Texas, I was more intrigued with the atmosphere of the place than the food.

I tried the fried catfish basket. I am not a fan. I prefer grilled salmon and veggies. Hush puppies are great though!
Worst eating ever, me and my niece decided to try the Flying fish restaurant tonight and we both order 4 shrimp and 0ne filet fish with fries combo, as we eating and talking I grab my shrimp the closer it got to my lip it felt hairy ??? and it was a LONG string of hair cooked in the batter, I immediately took it to the head cashier a man with glasses and mustache and he looked at me like I put the hair in the cooked shrimp, he showed NO CONCERN! He said do you want me to cook you some more? I said No that's OK, its the principle of the matter, that was our first time there and it will be our LAST TIME there. Have ya cooks put hair nets on there hair, one lady in the kitchen long brown hair with no hair piece on her head, that's where the hair came from, that's just NASTY to me. I advise any one that will go eat there check out your food before entering it into ya mouth. I wasted my money so did my niece ? they don't deserve not one star ??? I forgot to take a picture of my shrimp with the hair in it.

The food was pretty bland honestly I ordered the 2 piece fish basket and banana pudding. The banana pudding was thrown together. The fries I didn’t even finish, the fish as stated is not seasoned but cooked well.

The best catfish and hush puppies in the Garland area! My husband and I decided to try a new place for date night and were craving seafood and we found our new “go to”! Hubs had the ½ shrimp ½ crab boil and it was perfectly

Was craving some seafood so I decided to try something new. Went here with my mom and ordered the the gator nuggets and calamari for my meal. The gator nuggets were good, but the calamari wasn’t the best. I almost choked because the calamari was so stringy and hard to chew. They brought my mom her food but I had to get up and get my own when it was ready, so I did half the work plus the price I paid. The atmosphere was nice, they have a lot of different pictures of people displaying fish they’ve caught. It was a ok experience but I don’t think I’ll return.
