Ambience is nice but the food was just not for me.

This restaurant is now called Travelers table and the food is amazing. I had the pork vindaloo, it was deliciously spicy. We also had the New Orleans bread pudding dessert with pralines it was amazing.

I love it, the hospitality is great, the host was awesome and the waiter's are very cool, I was invited with a friend to try the steak, pretty much delicious and professionally well done, the place is very quiet and the atmosphere is so comfortable, if you didn't try it yet, you should now ;-D

Though the food is a little pricey, it was amazing. We had the family style platter, which included shirimp, chicken, pork, and fish along with veggies, pudding bread, tortillas, rice, sauce, pineapples and mangoes. The team portions out the food according to the number of guests. I particularly enjoyed the green vinegar sauce provided and the bread pudding! It's a shame I heard they are closing.

Probably the only upscale restaurant in Houston with serious Filipino influences. Lots of fresh seafood with intense flavors, generally very spicy. Airy, attractive dining room and excellent service.

This place was amazing!! I went to this restaurant with my boyfriend for his birthday and we had a little bit of everything. This is not a traditional place because the food is a fusion between all different types of food, but it was so flavorful and amazing. The fried chicken was the absolute best. The Pandesal was so crisp and fluffy at the same time. I wish I could rewind the night, just so I could enjoy the food for the first time again. Service was also amazing! Shout out to our server who made it a very special birthday evening!! Super attentive to our needs. We will return and recommend this place to all.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the whole fish. My only issue is that there aren't really any low carb dishes except the whole fish. I will surely come here again if I am entertaining people who could enjoy the very attractive dishes they serve.

Another great omakase dinner last night at Aqu, this time with owner Chef Paul. Best omakase I've had in Houston. Great value too as prices were reducesd since they are closing and looking for a new venue. Cannot to see what chef does next!

Aqui, is an Asian Fusion restaurant in the Montrose neighborhood of Houston. Beard winner Chef Paul Aqui announced on December 3 that the restaurant will close before year-end. Shocking! We enjoyed lots of tapas plates. Start with the Tuna Tataki, Veg Lumpia and Wagyu Tartare. Next Bistek, Fried Chicken and Bread & Foie. For dessert, Kalamansi Tart, Banana Turon and Tsamporado. Loved the pacing and variety of foods tasted.

We liked this place! Even as a foodie, the menu was a bit overwhelming. Our sever made some great recommendations, and we had a great meal. I will say, if you are not a fan of coconut or UNI this is probably not the spot for you. However, they had some truly delicious dishes to share with your dinning companions. While the flavor profiles may be intense for picky eaters, even my kids throughly enjoyed their meals. We started with the bread and butter- this is a must! Honestly, I would consider ordering one per person! Next, we ordered the foie gras toast, single serving portion for my brother and my oldest son. They both loved it! Really, it is a two bite dish, so you could share if you wanted. Next up was the crab and beignets; we all agreed the dish was exceptionally pleasing. For our "main" dishes we chose the pork belly, which was phenomenal, and the fried chicken, which was equally amazing! We shared a side of ramen with pork bites and covered in a very earthy, brown sauce. We finished the meal with the fried greens: sautéed peppers, baby bok choy, fresh apples and cream fresh- I really enjoyed this interesting side dish. We washed it down with lots of sake, and we genuinely enjoyed our visit. Dinner at Aqui is interesting, yet approachable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The ambience is casual but trendy. The reviews mentioned that this place was not kid friendly, but we felt very welcome. Another great thing about this spot is the acoustics; it feels like a bustling, lively place, but you are not bombarded with sound pollution. Overall, Aqui gets our stamp of approval. We enjoyed the unique experience in a fun and casual atmosphere. We will be back for sure!

Very very good. Stylish spacious dining room. Outdoor seating. Wonderful small plates, very fresh seafood. Similar in style to Uchi, but a little more relaxed. Service is very good and very friendly.
