Don’t get me wrong, Leo’s has plenty going for it and in time will meet its expectations of excellence in all areas. But you can see the teething problems that need to be ironed out. I was excited to try out this new steak restaurant in the River Oaks Shopping center, but was ultimately pretty disappointed. We had a reservation for 4 people for Friday night at 7:15. At 7:16 I received a text saying that our table was ready and to reply 1 if we were on our way. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:18 and upon checking in were told that we needed to wait in the bar for our table to be ready. With a name like Leo’s I had high expectations for this establishment. I’m saddened to say that my experience was subpar at best. The steak lacked any flavor. Oysters were mediocre. And a few other things I shall not mention. All in all , I do not think this meal matched it’s price tag. Dare I say Leo’s fell into an unfortunate trap of restaurants in the greater Houston area focusing more on ambiance than the quality of food.
