They have been open for 35 years.. probably really doesn't need any more reviews.. their longevity speaks for itself.. but simply amazing.. nothing fancy.. nothing complicated, nothing short of amazing food and phenomenal service. Usually we are greeted with a line but today due to the holidays we walked right in and started eating! Which is what I like to do! The owner rings you up and would be more than happy to tell you anything that you'd like to know regarding the restaurant/history or the area of Downtown Houston. We can't wait to go back.. honestly there are many many amazing food choices around Downtown but if you're really craving that downhome 5 generations (or more)of home cooking treat yourself! All the food is amazing.. if anyone were to ever leave a negative review they just woke up on the wrong side of the bed that day? Green beans are the best I've ever had plus the Jambalaya and smoked Chicken.. yummy

Drove by and saw the place on the corner and told my wife that's a good place to eat. The food is amazing and a lot of tasted yet is that fried chicken and they could put Popeyes KFC in everybody out of business. Delicious

Excellent food. Big crowd. No table service, but food was fresh and placed at the pickup window quickly. Reasonable price. My brother and sister-in-law have eaten here often and they love it, too.Parking: Busy enough to need more parking, but this is downtown Houston, so not possible to expand lot.

The owners are very nice people and they are serving some great authentic Cajun / Creole food on the city. Food: the baked chicken is my go to and it's top notch! Full of flavor and very tense. The stuffed pork chop is also top notch. The fried chicken is amazing as well. All of the sides are excellent. I really like the jambalaya, greens and mashed potatoes. The jalapeno cornbread is amazing too. This should be your go to if you work in the downtown area. I always make it a point to come here. One of my favorite places to eat in houston Texas. Top notch amazing food !

The catfish po'boy is a great plate every time but they always include the fries which are really subpar. The fries really take away from the enjoyment. The service is nice and the decor is nice and retro.

I loved the old Louisiana vibez here! Staff is very hospitable and nice. its a buffet line type place and the guy serving gave me a good suggestion of the seafood creole. it was very good. but the sides were mid to me. And the bread pudding i was looking forward to the most was out by the time i got there to eat at 12 :/ Its okay tho! Next time I def wanna try the fried chicken or poboy. Prices are very good for seafood. Lots of flavor!
