This was my first time here. The food was great. The surrounding area is pretty much a food desert so it was nice to find a sit down restaurant. I had the catfish, rice, red beans, peas, and jalapeno cornbread. Very filling. The place has that nice old time diner feel to it which I appreciated. It is a buffet style of ordering and it was head and shoulders above most other establishments. I will definitely eat here again as I need to get that bread pudding! Parking was very generous. I was there on Monday past around noontime.

Came in here because it's close to my job and I fell in love! I had a bowl of gumbo and it was just like I was in Louisiana. Super hardy and flavorful not to mention the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. It had such a homey comfortable feel to it! 10/10 would recommend to a friend.Food: 5/5

Their food is just amazing!! And I sort of love the cafeteria style they have over there when it's not too crowded.

Great little find. I had never been there and the kitchen staff explained what everything was to me. I also had a wonderful conversation with their mother who happens to also work there. Good food at a great price with a wonderful staff. The owner was nice to.

Went here for lunch and had thebfush po-boy. It was okay but to me it could have had bigger pieces of fish for the price tag. The flavor was bland to be a Cajun restaurant. I have spent less and gotten more with flavor. I also picked up bread pudding, which I must say was good. This desert pulls you in bite after bite. Soooo good.

Child they food make you hurt yo self. The gumbo is bomb, the red beans and rice banging. They got good tasty food. My next dish will be the chicken and sausage jambalaya. Tasty!

Ordered from Uber Eats. The black eyed peas were good but ordered crab claw and shrimp gumbo there was not one piece of crab in the gumbo. The taste was average it was gritty like bones or shell was left behind in it. I don't know if I got the bottom of the pot from ordering at the end of the day but I was very displeased. Won't return.

Y E S !! First stop as soon as I landed in Houston and a great way to start my trip!! Food is delicious! I had the grilled chicken salad and my partner had the mixed gumbo, corn, and green beans. The salad comes with bacon that of which I didn't know and they had no problem in fixing it. Which places never do but there's usually this awkward hesitation (which I never understood). Everyone was nice! On the outside it doesn't look like much but once you go inside and get a whiff of the food, you know.

Pretty good food for the prices they have, you can taste the freshness in the seafood, they could do better with keeping the fries fresh, but everything else seems pretty good, you can feel the old urban vibes with a kind of confederate taste.

This place is the best. Down home, honest, no nonsense Cajun food. Always delicious, always dependable. You can't go wrong.

Some of the Best Cajun/Southern cuisine that I have ever had. Some people complain about saltiness, but excellent seasoning is part of Southern cooking. If you are accustomed to eating more bland food, this may not be for you. The Gumbo and Red Beans and Rice are EXCELLENT!

In town for a convention and googled good seafood restaurants near me and this gem popped. It's a very unassuming restaurant from the outside. Once you enter, you view the menu on the chalkboard and line up cafeteria style. I ordered catfish platter with fries and jambalaya , with a sweet tea and bread pudding to go. The catfish was seasoned perfectly, crispy delicious as was the fries and and jambalaya. The restaurant is only open from 11-2 , so plan wisely and treat yourself to a great lunch. I'm in town until Saturday, I definitely plan to return!
