the place has a peaceful atmosphere, it is very clean and smells of delicious food. I don't speak much English, but the people who served me were very friendly and made an effort to communicate with me. I feel very good in this place, I recommend it to spend a pleasant moment with a delicious meal. really this site is the best!!!!

Don't do it!! This place has gone so down down hill! From the rudest woman in the front to the dark dining room with the dirty looking decor. The owners and management look like they have given up on this place and so have I. Don't trust it at all!

Empress of China has been in Irving for over 40 years.... still great food, good service. Wish the atmosphere didn't seem so dark and old.We love the Moo shu Chicken, best plumb sauce! Egg Roll was HUGE and delicious!

I ordered Lemon Chicken w/fried rice and wonton soup. The fried rice is Horrible, The Lemon Chicken is burnt & it only had 2 slices of lemon, The Wonton Soup is also Horrible!! This wasn’t worth the $18.40 they charged! Don’t Waste Your Time & Money!! They don’t deserve the 1 Star.

The food here is always amazing. I’m 28 years old and have been eating here my whole life. The staff is always professional and seated me and some guests 15 minutes before closing. One of the best time laces to eat in Irving!!!!!

Ordered Jalapeno chicken for lunch. The portion size was a joke. One tiny scoop of rice and very little chicken. Also there was no jalapeno chicken. Bell peppers, onions, zucchini, and mushrooms encased on a sweet bbq sauce. Cannot recommend this place. Panda Express is better.

Horrible experience. The waitress had a bad attitude right from the start. We ordered and wanted to keep the menu to order more food to go. That set her off. She sent over a young man to tell us we had to leave. He acted like he was going to beat us up. The waitress made some aggressive remarks as we were leaving and caused a scene. Weird. Very weird. Not a nice place.

I brought my fiance here for date night. Been raving about it. I used to come when I was little and it was awesome. Not anymore. Not exactly a fan of sitting at a cafeteria table with cheap plastic table cloths. But I thought maybe the food would make up for it. Wrong again. The egg drop soup was phenomenal, I'll give them that. But when the rest came out, the orange chicken was stringy. That's not the worst part though. I noticed mushrooms in the meal, and I'm allergic. I brought this up to the waiter and his response was "you didn't ask" and he left. He didn't ask if I was okay despite pointing out that I was allergic. Neither did he offer to get me something else. So we asked for the check. He brought us To Go containers as if I could actually eat the meal. And then he acted all offended when we told him we were leaving it. Oh how the mighty have fallen. I was very disappointed.

THE CASHIER LADY IS VERY RUDE/OBNOXIOUS. YOU CANT MAKE SOMEONE PAY 18% PERCENT FOR TIP FOR 3 PEOPLE ESPECIALLY FOR LUNCH TIME. AND MAKE COMMENTS THEN YOU SHOULD NOT DINE IN... WHO SAYS THAT!! ANOTHER COMMENTS SHE MADE WAS I SHOULD COOK MY OWN FOOD AT HOME AND EAT IT THERE. THEN COMING HERE TO EAT. NEVER COMING HERE EVER AGAIN.! SHE NEEDS TO BE FIRED. VERY RUDE.

This place has really gone down over the years! My great grandmother took me here since I was little and it's a shame good things don't last. Came here tonight as a party of 3, there was a table of 2 and a table of 1 already eating when we arrived. The women turned us away saying she wouldn't serve us she would be too busy trying to answer the phones. Good luck

Food was okay the lo mein was sweet could be just my preference but the main thing was the cashier was rude and disrespectful would not come back after that experience!

I do not like the attitude of the employees in the check out. Very rude when I am just trying to ask a simple question like why doe my meal not look like what I ordered. I even went a second time and the woman just makes a point to prove she is right rather than just help me with my order. I do not want to continue going to this restaurant if I have to deal with her. In my Picture, does this look like fried rice ?

Excellent food. Was not crowded. One server for the 3 to 4 tables but still did an excellent handling it all. Still one of my favorite places to go eat.

As most reviews already point out, the lady at the register is VERY RUDE and will go above and beyond to prove her point, rather than simply accept her error and make things right with the customer. I ordered for pick up and went back inside to ask for a fork and was told, “Oh, I thought you were going to take it home.”Don’t even bother asking for extra sauce, that turns into a back and forth about how there’s already sauce in the bag. There are signs everywhere saying not to call for someone to come to the register because they can see you on the camera, but then you have to wait forever for them to come up. The food is definitely not worth the terrible customer service, please spend your money elsewhere!
