Early dinner (4:00 pm) for my birthday. Took a minute for someone to see us and seat us. Took a minute for the server to hear/understand we wanted a bottle of wine after we ordered. Got the right wine. Table was sticky. Good music! Ordered food and my (English) husband asked if the fish for fish and chips was fresh and told it was. It wasn’t. It was the typical three pieces of frozen cod served in USA restaurants. It tasted fine. I ordered the scallops with bacon wrapped shrimp, it as okay, not delicious. Seem to cater to the bar at this time of day, lots of servers/workers joking and interacting with each other from one side of the room to the other. Been there, done that.

Overall, I was satisfied with our meal. We had charbroiled oysters and calamari for appetizer. Both were good even though the calamari was a little chewy. I had the pick 2 with grilled shrimp and beer battered cod. Both were delicious. My husband had the catfish. He said it tasted good but the breading fell off. I took off 1 star because I watched a server digging in the ice putting together a shrimp cocktail with her bare hands, serve it, never washed her hands and I thought that was disgusting.

I discovered this place near my job about a week and a half ago and ordered the pick 3 combo... it was DELICIOUS!!!. I decided to go back yesterday while on my lunch break and try something else on their menu since I had such a good experience the first time. I decided to order the oyster nachos and a cup of the crab bisque. The crab bisque was rich and decadent... full of flavor... absolutely would order again.... My oyster nachos... not so much... I go to pick up my food... I'm super excited about it... and I head off back to work as my lunch hour was almost over. I get to my break room and open my nachos.. and this is what was inside. FIVE chips... a tiiiiiny container of chipotle tartar sauce and what looks like an insane amount of pico de gallo for 5 chips. I was so hurt by this discovery especially because I didn't have time to go back to the restaurant and get my money back. I work 10 hour shifts and we have to take our lunches fairly early in order to provide proper coverage on our floor. I didn't get off work until 11pm and I sat at my desk sad and starving because this restaurants idea of nachos is 5 soggy stale chips and a handful of mushy oysters. I would have given 1 star but the bisque was good.

Sat outside on the patio to enjoy some fresh air. Quick, friendly service.Really enjoyed the calamari with Thai chili sauce.Also had bacon wrapped shrimp and scallops over potatoes. Didn’t love the inconsistency of the bacon doneness, so I removed it and just had the shrimp. Both the shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly.

Kayla…what can I say, made our experience! From the management, to the service and food everything was top notch. I asked for Kayla to make me a drink she would be proud of and she sure came through, she made a drink that took me back to my childhood sneaking a drink of my grandmas “spiked punch” as I ran through the hallways of that little A frame house sat of the road nestled behind the biggest of pecan trees…. That’s a true bartender there and I was more than grateful. Thank you to Fish City Grill for making our date night one to remember! We will be back and please ask for Kayla at the bar, she’s the blonde that’s not only knowledgeable but just a wonderful person to be around. (Don’t forget Jonathon in the kitchen making sure the food is not only fresh but bursting with flavor). So if you are wanting a great place to eat, look no further Fish City Grill Irving is the only choice. FYI if ordering from a 3rd party like Doordash, Grubhub or POSTMATES and don’t tip, your order will sit there and be passed over by driver after driver (because you’re not only cheap but lazy) until the 3rd party pays a driver enough to eventually collect your order. THIS IS NOT FISH CITYS FAULT ITS YOURS…jusayin

I love their menu but hate their service. Was seated at a table and waited and waited to place an order. I could see at least 4 servers talking to each other. Many empty tables -- so it was not busy. What happened to prompt service. Finally just got up and left.

Been wanting to try Fish City Grill for a long time. Service here was great. Seated quickly. Waiter was excellent. Food was barely ok. I ate it, but won't go back. Tasted as though cooked in oil and nothing else. Not good oil, either. No taste. Salmon with garlic and capers. Found maybe three capers mixed in with the rice bed. None on the fish or asparagus. Couldn't taste the garlic at all. Sorry, no can do again. Excellent waiter needs to find another place.

This was place great! I started off with a Doz east coast oysters and they were so good I never got a chance to take pics. The fried pickles and gulf coast oysters were great as well. Finished off with the Shrimp & Grits and bread pudding for dessert. Everything hit the spot! Place was packed but the service was on point and everyone was so polite. I just moved to the area and though I have so much of the city to explore this place is already one of my go to favorites! Less than 10mins from my house and with the amount of food I ate $100 including the tip ain't bad!! I will definitely be back soon!

4 out of 6 of us got the fried fish and it was fresh. The hubs got bacon wrapped shrimp and scallops. It was good and cooked perfect. And the boy had a burger which he gobbled up. The service was good too! A place we'll come back too.

This place has the best fish and chips ever. I wish this was an exaggeration, but for some reason they do. Everything here tastes fresh (which mind you is incredibly important for seafood) and wonderful. The service here has been up and down in my experience, but I can look passed it because of the food. It's truly never a disappointment and definitely a regular restaurant in rotation because of how wonderful it is. Get the oysters !!

She even brought us samples of all three of the soups before we ordered! Would definitely go there again.
