We were the only 2 people there and they owner bragged bout the food he recommended, and it was horrible. Sorry to say this but being honest. It’s now April 2nd 2023 and I drive by there every morning and eventually and it seems it’s closed.

Came to Laredo for a high school volleyball game and found this place on yelp and it matched my expectations. Love the Kekas and the staff was very kind and helpful with understanding the menu. Not a lot of seating and parking was a little difficult but did not take away from my experience.

Wish I’d taken a photo, the plate of kekas was beautiful piled high with shredded lettuce and crema making for the perfect bite. I’ve never had kekas so ordered an assortment. The chicken mole was my favorite (it always is when done well). Cochinita pibil was close second. Don’t be thrown off by the small space! This family run restaurant was the best part of my trip to Laredo.

come to Laredo for work and hadn't been in the area in a couple of years. But as soon as I drove by I remembered Las Kekas and the owner, Nicolas. This time, at Nicolas' reccomendation I tried the brisket kekas along with the usual cochinito pibil. You see, Nicolas showed me a picture of the briskets in the smoker and they looked so good; but tasted better!! GO for it, come to this place and try the brisket kekas. RIQUISIMO

I made a 4 hour round trip JUST to eat here & I would gladly do it again! I can’t say enough good things about this place, from the quaint atmosphere, friendly owners and the phenomenal food. I tried several different kekas recommended by the owner and never had a bad dish. The prices are unbelievably low especially for the huge servings. The hibiscus tea was so refreshing & fragrant. This was just an all around perfect experience ❤️

Checked this place out with my buddy. Doesn't look like much when you drive by, but when you go in you fell at home. Food was beyond what i could have imagined. Get the Kekas they're worth it, that's why it's called Kekas! They have many awards as they show on their wall and they are all well deserved. Good food, good people

I'm in love. House made salsas, tortillas, everything. Side note, the tortillas are made with masa. Dishes well prepared and good size servings. Service is pleasant and even entertaining if you play your cards right. My only complaint is the small parking, but that's a first world problem. I'll walk for the good food and experience. I didn't know puffy tacos are called kekas; so good learning experience there. The soup fed most of the family sufficiently. We had the caldo de res. Definitely one of my favorites and easily a return visit.

I almost want to keep this place hidden. The food is amazing and the owner is a true food lover. Try the kekas, delicious corn dough filled with delicious choices and fried. Topped with lettuce, mexican cheese, crema. Chicken mole is the best, period. Parking is limited, but worth the effort.

Had a new food her, a keka, which you might hear is another name for a quesadilla but at least at La Kekas is a little piece of heaven a golden fried tortilla stuffed with your choice of 1 of about 12 fillings. I ordered the conchinita pibil and it was glorious. The pico de gallo served with the order chips and salsa is remarkable - the acid profile reminded me more of ceviche. It was a revelation.
