Earlier someone gave it a low er rating due to the "slow service". For one it is not a fast food place, it's a place to chill and talk. Second the dishes are so worth the wait. Everything we ordered was superb; the German tacos, The Sandwich, The Burger. They might sound like your ordinary but they indeed are unique. Staff was kind and attentive, atmosphere was nice. 5 stars.

It's not often I give a restaurant across-the-board a 5 star review, but Schneider's earned it with ease. The German-style food was freshly made, with essentially everything made from scratch. I told our server their cuisine was the best I've had outside of Germany, and I've been there a lot. They also have a wide selection of beers, including several German beers on tap. The beer garden was a pleasant setting on a nice night. I'm attaching a photo of my plate - beautiful jaegerschnitzel - before I dug in. This is truly a gem!

Food- Best German food outside of Munich. Pretzels are a must have! Can't go wrong with any of their schnitzel options and the burger hits the spot! A great selection of German beers as well.Service- When you have staff like Anja and Mike behind the bar, great service is never in doubt! The owner, Bobby, makes sure you feel at home when he's in too.Atmosphere- Although McAllen is a large "city", it lacks spaces similar to Schneiders with an outdoor Beer Garden vibe. With live music on most nights and karaoke, you're bound to have a great time.

We have a large group, 20 plus, go out after happy hour dance every Tues. This restaurant is not open on Tues but did open for our 23 people. We had a great time, service and food. Thank you very much for opening.

Our first trip to Schneider's was disappointing. Very slow service. Took several minutes to be greeted. When our waiter showed up, she was chewing a pretzel and almost spit it out when she was talking to us. Nice way to begin a dinner. The pretzel appetizer and jagerschnitzel were delicious. The sides of french fries and fried potatoes came out somewhere between luke warm to cold. I think our waiter took awhile to get our entrees from the kitchen to our table. The food sat in the kitchen window for a long time and I do not think there were heat lamps to keep the food warm. After waiting several minutes, I had to run down the waiter for a to go box and the bill. Sorry guys...just being honest.
We were a group of 4 and attended the October fest event, the idea of the event was nice, but to our surprise it was more American than German, the DJ killed the vibe of the event, we had a few beers which tasted kind of old, and had some food that was great. We left because of the music, at a moment we felt we were at a child's piñata.

Delicious food and great drinks. This location is a fun spot to try cuisine you are not used to….it’s German food!The one thing that I would LOVE to see is one or two chicken/beef options. I don’t eat pork so there wasn’t many entrees I could try off the menu. A chicken schnitzel would go hard!The burger is great and everyone that was eating the sausage or pork loin schnitzel couldn’t stop talking about it.Awesome sauerkraut and red cabbage. Pretzels are great. Ask for the hot mustard for pretzels and curry ketchup for friesThe waitresses are friendly, the cook is friendly and even the owner Bobby floats around to check on everyone.Highly suggest checking out the food and drinks.Welcoming to a big group!
