The Hideaway New Braunfels

Saw this place and decided to try something new, to my surprise me and my wife were completely ignored by the wait staff. We sat there for a good 15 minutes, had at least 3 different servers walk pass us, and even when I tried to get the attention of one she completely ignored me as if I wasn't even there. This is the type of place I will never return to or recommend to any one that I know. Just completely rude and cold servers here.

Saturday night, dinner time. Went with wife & kids. There were several other kids in the patio area. Crowd was largely parents in the 30 to mid-40 age range. Two dudes were at the inside bar wearing navy flight suits. ... I doubt they were actual navy (hair, unshaved, and really). Thought about playing the Righteous Brothers for them. Their 10y/o kid was also sporting a flight suit and playing with a volleyball. Maybe a costume contest, but still kind of annoying. Not the restaurant's fault.

We sat outside. The high temp for the day was 93, but the area was very comfortable thanks to some large trees in adjacent properties that shaded the area. My youngest played on the playset. My oldest opted to challenge a couple other kids to jenga. Cornhole, steel darts, and dancing are also available. A band was getting ready when we left.

We were hungry. So didn't wait for the server and just went to the bar. Food was fast, fairly priced, & portions were large. Fried mushrooms were bland, but my chili was good.

-- Ding on service is due to a few minor hiccups/delays. We got a brand new waitress that was still learning, and they may need to buy an additional frier. Minor.

We had a good time. We'll be back.

Ribeye steak was really tough. So many bragged about it and I was sooo disappointed. Did not even taste good. Definitely not worth the money. Have always loved this place and not sure how it went so downhill on food.

I absolutely love the atmosphere. Iesha adds an amazing vibe! The food is beyond spectacular! I suggest the steak!! The cook is pretty awesome too!

5/5 would recommend. I went for lunch today with my family. The bartender/waiter was great and friendly. I got the chopped steak with mash potatoes, it was unreal how good it was. The mashed potatoes are real mashed potatoes not the store bought bag of evaporated ones. The gravy was deliciousz My wife got a chicken Philly cheese steak and it was also incredible. Her fries were also great. My daughter got the chicken tenders and those were some of the best I have ever taken a bite of. Perfectly breaded and incredibly moist. We will absolutely be back. The food was delicious, I love meatloaf and this was different but so so good.
Had Boudin Balls that I didn't even know what they were but I'll definitely have these again.
Then outside to enjoy some rock n roll from the band Rock Castle. They were really good and live music under the stars can't beat it. There's also a pool table, corn hole and a play area for kids. Great night for our 45th Anniversary 🎉

Great vibe! Went in on Saturday night. They had a great band playing. The customers were lively as well, even though it wasn't a really big crowd. Everyone seemed to be having fun. It took a while to get menus. The service was definitely slow. The food was NOT great. The catfish and shrimp lacked seasoning. The loaded potatoes were bland and really cold. The tenders were just OK. We were just happy with the fun atmosphere.

The amazing thing about place is how they get all the best looking ladies to in the areas to work on a weeknight. Am here late night and the staff is 9.3. One look we all know the rules. Not adding a photo or video for undisclosed reasons. Have 1.2 mil followers on my account so can’. Imagine they have to rotate. If you want to be served by great gods with ok foods this place should be a regular thing. Love peace and hair grease.

Awesome vibe, great food for the whole family!

I’ve heard nothing but great things about this place but that was not my experience a few days ago. It says restaurant but seems more like a bar, nonetheless I did order food and it was just okay. I’d say the drinks when I finally got them were probably the best part of the experience. The bartenders didn’t exactly seem like they were excited to be there either. I understand not wanting to work sometimes or having a hard day, but there’s a difference between that and having a bad attitude.

“Family friendly” and “restaurant” is an overstatement. This place is just a bar with a rude bartender.
