We frequently travel the 10 miles each way from South Rockwall to get what we thought was the best pizza in town. It was close to the NY style I grew up on. Last Sunday we ordered a large pizza and were sorely disappointed when we got home. The pizza was dried and over baked. The pepperoni slices were hard and brittle. I hope this was an anomaly as we always consider Pizza Cucina the best in the area.
Our first visit and very impressed! Coincidentally, it was the official first day for the new owners. I can't compare to prior because... Duh, it was our first visit. :) That said, my wife and I split the Supreme Calzone and really enjoyed it. The dough for the calzone was extra delicious and the side of tomato sauce while not spicy was quite flavorful. The new owner told us that they make their own dough each day. It sure was good! A nice little serendipitous lunch spot!

I got a Philly steak calzone, the meat tasted like the cheap frozen Philly steak in a box in the frozen section of the grocery store. My husband got the meat calzone and it was good.
