Fish was undercooked but they corrected it. Crab cake way too much bread filling, very little crab. Salad was good. Overall was ok but expected better.

Always enjoyed dining in here. I had their fish tacos they were good, but the tortillas were chewy so it made it too messy to eat, for my taste. It wasn't even busy but our server forgot about us for a while.
I’ve never left a review on a restaurant’s website but I just have to for this one…. I had the best restaurant experience I’ve ever had at Cappy’s! The waiter was knowledgeable and anticipatory - explaining the menu before I had to ask… extremely kind, cordial, and smart… the FOOD WAS SOOO AMAZING, I couldn’t stop smiling the whole night!? Then they come and tell my husband and I that they’re so grateful we came to their restaurant on Friday night because we could have gone anywhere in San Antonio, that they paid for our appetizer - and want to also give us a dessert on the house!? Little did they know… we were from out of town and had just come to San Antonio for our one year anniversary/babymoon trip/my birthday!!! It was so special and the best service I’ve ever received. I feel bad I am leaving this review 6 months later (sorry it’s so late) but obviously I still think of this restaurant and people. Thank y’all for treating us and we will be back because that night is so fond in my memory and because the food, atmosphere, AND service was amazing!

The food was good not great but good. I ordered the fish tacos & they were mediocre, no flavor. I won't order that again. My husband had the gumbo & he loved it. His fried shrimp was good. The creme brûlée was okay. Maybe we ordered the wrong entrees & dessert. Normally have higher praise for the food. Our server was excellent & very attentive.

Exceptional dinner at Cappy's Restaurant last night. From beginning to end, our server Marc Anthony was excellent, very knowledgeable, & attentive. The food was prepared well. Great presentation, very fresh & packed with flavor. I had the potato-crusted halibut with citrus beurre blanc and julienned vegetables, OMG it was soo delicious ?!! Went there specifically for this dish as they had shared it on their story and I was mesmerized by their post. Had to taste it and it did not disappoint.I ordered a strawberry lemonade and it was probably the best looking and best tasting lemonade I've had. The restaurant itself is very laid back while still remaining elegant. Perfect evening all around. Highly recommend this spot.

The food was ok, although the menu should have some more healthy and more ambitious dishes than only relay on fast food alternatives like breads, more breads and other carbs. The ambiance was pleasant, but the noise level was a bit high for a relaxing lunch. Overall, a satisfactory dining experience, but with room for improvement.

This place was exceptional. Everything we ordered was spot on. The crab cake melted in your mouth and was well balanced with large fresh lump. My girlfriend had the halibut that was cooked well and the potato chip crust was fantastic. The plating forced each bite to be complete with all the components working well. I did the ribeye with bone marrow butter. The ribeye was cooked perfectly. The bone marrow butter, although good, was not as life changing as I hoped but at no fault to the chef. We had a really nice evening and the staff was so accommodating and friendly especially since we walked in without a reservation on a Friday night. I was extremely impressed.

I'm sure my low restaurant expectations from living in New Braunfels did NOT influence my very good perception of Cappy's.The service was friendly, attentive and professional.The food was lovingly prepared and presented.It's almost enough to convince me to move.
