Okay meal. My cheese enchiladas appeared to just have shredded mozzarella inside, and the elote was definitely canned corn with toppings. Chips and salsa were extra. Friendly service and nice atmosphere on the riverwalk, but the food could use some work.

Well got a seat right away should have been a warning. All good restaurants had a wait. Bright chips and salsa but took 10 minutes to bring drinks. Got three of six others wrong and didn't fix any of them or compensate any thing. The tacos were swimming in grease/fat. Everyone who ate them got ?. How is this place still here???

We used to always enjoy eating at Rio Rio because the food was good and the service was adequate however both of these went down. We had dinner yesterday at Rio Rio. The food was just ok, the margaritas weren't the best. The waitress acted as she didn't want to be there. Didn't bring us silverware, or water. I had to go inside and ask her for silverware. And it wasn't busy.. Never checked on us once to see if we needed anything else. We will not go back to Rio Rio.

We had been talking about going and went on a whim. We were seated quickly and that was all that was done. Restaurant wasn’t busy like usual and had plenty of seating however, after placing our drink order nothing came after 30 minutes of waiting so, we left and went next door to The Original and had no problems, drinks came within 5 minutes, appetizers within 5 minutes and food within 15 minutes. Not sure if we’ll make a return trip to Rio Rio.

The chicken flautas were well-seasoned. The blackened Mahi Mahi tacos were grilled great and tasted terrific. There was a sauce that kicked up the flavor. Both dishes had corn tortillas instead of flour. We really liked that. Our server was polite and didn't bother us during the meal. However, she was available when needed. We sat by the river and watched ducks and type boats. It was an enjoyable meal and break from the day.

In 35 years, safe to say, it was the worst beef chimachamga I have ever eaten. The only reason this place is even still open is because it's on the Riverwalk. So most people don't know how bad the food is until they sit down, then it's $30 too late.A Riverwalk tourist trap.

Nachos had little chicken that was rubbery. Soggy chips due to refueled beans and melted cheese everywhere . Margaritas good but not cheap .

The manager is absolute TRASH. We were sitting on the patio upstairs and she accused our 3yr old of tearing down their cheap decor hung on the railing. She glared at him and shook her head. When my husband questioned why she felt it necessary to be rude to a CHILD, she attempted to argue with my husband. Continuing to accuse our son of pulling down a plastic decoration. Mind you, we had literally just sat down. Terrible customer service. She needs to be fired for her poor treatment of customers with small children. Hospitality isn’t her strong suit. Pathetic.

A good place next to the river. The food was above average but not outstanding. It needs some spicing up. Service was average. Not our favorite stop on the Riverwalk
The service was great! One of the best margaritas I’ve had! I would highly recommend the jalapeño margarita. We just had drinks! Our server was amazing!

Whenever I am in a new location, I ask the cashiers and locals I meet on the names of their favorite food spots. This is one that came up.It's interesting that most of the Mexican or Tex Mex are all locationed near each other in downtown San Antonio...It is also interesting that chips and salsa do not come with your meal, they are an extra fee.We had the prickly pear, fajitas, churros, street tacos, and elote.

We had a group of 14. the pushed together roundtable were a bit clumsy. service was okay but the it was a bit noisy even though the place was not crowded. However, if you chose to sit outside (104-106 degrees) it seemed charming. this review is not meant to be negative. Its just that with likely 1,000+ Mexican place to eat in San Antonio may check some other ones out first.

We decided to have a drink and appetizer on The River Walk tonight. It was our first time for my family at this particular establishment. We ordered three drinks, a pop and also, queso for our chips. Our waiter was nice and prompt with our drinks and appetizer. My dismay is with the restaurant itself a woman came outside from the restaurant (I do not know who she was or her job title) and came to our table and said right to my face stop feeding the birds then walked away. I never once fed any animal and we quickly paid the bill and immediately left. The waiter apologized for this women's behavior, which was nice of him. I will never ever return to this restaurant and give them our business. Please stay away from a restaurant that treats there patrons RUDELY!!

My husband and I were on vacation. First it was confusing how to enter the restaurant. When we finally saw the hostess stand she was about to sit us in an area and tree roaches were crawling around. We went upstairs to the balcony where it took so long for someone to come I had to get up and go find someone. Naomi was our waitress. Despite she needed help she did a really great job trying to hold down the fort. They didn’t modify the menu but she tried her best. My food was wrong but it didn’t take long for the correct plate to come out. We were also able to see two marriage proposals so that was nice. Overall the food tasted great and the alcoholic beverage was nice and strong. However the roaches and wait time has to go.
