Certainly not a must stop sushi restaurant. Overpriced for sashimi. Very small pieces for the price of about $3.75 each piece. Would generally say pass and find same for less or much better quality and serving size for the cost.

Food: Sushi is okay not anything special or crazy. There’s definitely way better sushi places around. Gyoza and wontons were definitely store bought frozen. Ramen was ok definitely better else where.Service: Service was awful we had to call our server over every time. Didn’t speak English very well so we couldn’t ask questions.Atmosphere: Little flies were flying around everywhere trying to fly in your face. Very strange atmosphere a lot of people eating alone the vibe was weird.

Visited with a group of 12. They were very accommodating and everyone enjoyed their food and drinks. Great experience but not a fancy place.

Music was too loud and the food was not prepared well. Meal was overcooked and too salty. Server was great and polite. Definitely not an authentic Asian restaurant.

We had a great experience. Honestly, we did not expect the food to be this delicious. The spicy tuna roll was first class, tuna was fresh and high grade as well as the avocado and cucumber. One of the best I’ve had. The pork gyoza was crunchy and tasty. The noodles were the best plate, the vegetables were crispy and tender, the entire plate just flowed with authentic asian flavors. Highly recommended for a quaint, date night. A modern, contemporary place with a blast from the past. Hard to explain but with a nice, classy atmosphere.

If you're here in the area, it's not a bad choice to get a bite but it's definitely not a place to make it a worthwhile Dinner. I'm pretty sure the rice is bagged because it was salty and most of the food is expensive for no reason and its just not good for the amount you pay. The server/workers do their job well but this isn't exactly a must visit spot in this area. Been twice and felt the same.

The fried rice is ridiculously good. OMG! Their southwest sushi roll was really good as well. Very fresh ingredients and stayed together. It’s a little place close to the riverwalk if you want some good sushi and rice, come here!!! We love champagne but they didn’t have it by the glass; so we stuck to wine which was good as well!

Finally got to try Sukeban and really enjoyed it!! Great, relaxed atmosphere hidden in Blue Star Area. Cozy space with good music playlist. Parking will be tricky on a busy night. Service was wonderful and food was gooood! They have a nice wine selection and I noted that the bar would be a comfortable setting for solo dining as well. They have QR menus which I hate, wish they had paper menus like the good ole days. Their soup was so flavorful and delicious and the sushi was 10/10. Yakisoba Noodles were good, but preferred the sushi. Will definitely be returning!

The service was unpleasant. The food had little to no seasoning. The ambience was mostly calm, although their music is on full blast. The waitress who attended us was rude and made unnecessary comments. Overall, just a bad experience. Do not come here, you'll be disappointed.

After a quick visit to the vintage pop up at the brick, we walked down the alley to sukeban. After hearing great things, we walked in! Nice atmosphereOrdered the spicy calamari and spicy edamame as starters , a bit disappointed being that the edename didn't come smothered in the spicy sauce and the calamari were super small and practically chicharrón calamari However, the noodles were better but still were a bit over salted But as we get to the sushi, this was the best part of the night My eel sushi was the best i've ever had, thick pieces of eel and served warm The eel sauce was sweet and not too heavy which left me wanting to drink it, the rice was also very moist and supple. Ordered 3 orders (2 ct)! Our next roll was the volcano roll, came fried, spicy, and flavorful with white fish (albacore tuna) with a sweet glaze that was just simply amazing. The flavors all blended in so amazingly and was literally popping in our mouths due to the salmon eggs And to top it off, real and authentic sirracha! gosh i missed this stuff We will be back soon!

We had an excellent experience at Sukeban, a sushi restaurant, during their happy hour. We arrived on a Wednesday at 5pm to take advantage of the happy hour prices, located on the menu and a sign outside, which lasted until 6pm. Our order included a glass of wine, Sapporo beer, a veggie roll, spring roll, cheese wonton, veggie gyoza, and seaweed salad. Surprisingly, the total, including a 25% tip, was less than $55. The value was unbeatable. The food quality was decent overall. While everything else tasted fresh, I wouldn't recommend the spring rolls due to a hint of old grease in the taste; or maybe it was an off night. The attentive service from our waitress added to the positive experience. Considering its central location at blue star, this place would be perfect for First Fridays.

Pretty decent sushi place for downtown San Antonio. The food was ok, and Sashimi was good. The appetizers were a little off. It is a good Mid Sushi spot. My complaints are that the place is too small, and the service is kinda non exsistant unless you are with the LGBTTVXQ generation, which I am not. So if you're not into that, dont expect to get proper normal service. ? they have most of the standard sake. However, the hot sake was kinda bitter tasting compared to most of them. I usually try at other establishments. I try to leave an honest opinion for others and give my 100% honest opinions. If this place was a little bigger or had bigger tables and the service was a little better, I would give a 4 star. Like I said for downtown and a quick bite super. For relaxing afternoon no thank you.
