Similar to the other review, the etouffee had an unusually high level of salt. It appears from our discussion that the food arrives frozen and/or prepared. The po boy with fried catfish was better. Wait staff was very good.
I think the 3.9 stars I saw for this restaurant was extremely generous. I generally rate a restaurant on how many times I'm willing to visit it. The only good thing here was that the waiter/bartender, (yes, he was working both jobs at once) was extremely friendly and got our order right. But you go to a restaurant for the food, right? I can say the garlic bread was extremely good. Not so much the rest... The bowl of chicken gumbo was a soup, not gumbo... thin broth with seven cubes of chicken in it that tasted like a dog smells. The cup of seafood gumbo had a tasty broth occupied by two shrimps and nothing else. The Cajun chicken pasta was not Cajun...very bland. I never noticed the ambiance as I was too busy staring at the dog sitting at the bar, literally sitting on a bar stool. Was really hoping to like this place as it is so close to home... But it will be closed up before we step back in this restaurant space.
Tried this place out for the first time. Must say the food was a disappointment. Ordered the alligator bites they were not cooked all the way through. Ordered the chicken breast sandwich was very Bland. Also had the seafood gumbo which was not thick at all very watery it did taste good. Ordered a top shelf margarita and that tasted very nice. I'd like to say this place has a lot of potential lots of TVs and a great location. Probably a good drinking place.
Unfortunately this place is not the same. The chef and the cooking staff are completely gone and the new modified menu is subpar. No more dirty rice, beignets, boudin balls, etc. nothing about it says Bourbon Street. . It's very unfortunate.
Crawfish queso appetizer was very salty. Gumbo and ettoufee had uncooked rice and dish was very watery. Bad cook. Avoid this place for dine in.
I ordered the chargrilled oysters at this place on 6/17/22 and they were the worst I’ve ever had in my entire life!!! I waited over 30 minutes for the food to come out and when it did, they were extremely small, had no flavor, and were topped with globs of melted cheese! Being a person from Louisiana that loves chargrilled oysters, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO THIS RESTAURANT!!! Ended up driving to Addison to eat ate Nate’s, the place I should’ve gone to initially. I wish I would have read the reviews before going to this place, but never ever again!
Tried to come around 9:25pm.... Head chef has already shut down 10 mins prior. Thought it was open till 12. Maybe update hours ?
Stopped in last night 5/30/22 for the first time to place a order for my party catering. I met the Chef Ron and the GM Mike, both are terrific guys. I ended up staying for dinner and drinks (Hurricanes & Purple Decatur and of course a Grenade, yum yum). I left my meal up to the chef. He made me Grilled Shrimp with Parmesan cream sauce over white rice. All I have to say is OMG DELICIOUS!!If you love NOLA food, y’all need to stop by and give them a try. I will be going back. You will not be disappointed.
Absolutely amazing!! Thank you for the incredible Shrimp Po Boy and wonderful service!! Coleman, Austin and Justin a special shout out to you all!! Can’t wait to come back and have that dinner again!!! Beyond impressed!!!!?
This place has so much potential. I was very disappointed. I saw their advertisement on FB and was excited to try it out. We went on a Friday night, the place was dead. Should of been the first sign. The frozen drinks were awful. The food was ok. We will try it again in a couple of months too see if theirs any improvement.
Finally got some food here as I usually arrive after the kitchen is closed and get an Abita. Beans and rice were above average but not incredible. The crawfish poboy was really solid. Would have liked a little more sauce, but the toppings were fresh, the crawfish was still moist inside, and the bread was soft on the inside and crackly on the crust.
The food was outstanding the wait staff and the bartenders were awesome definitely a place I would go back to. What are the best hamburgers I've had in a long time
AYCE crawfish for $25 with corn and potatoes on weekend is definitely a good deal and something that will bring me back. It's not outstanding flavor so if you're a connoisseur, you might be disappointed. Pay at outdoor table, pick up and refill crawfish from tent at back of patio, grab a seat anywhere and order from menu from your table. Unfortunately, the rest, fried pickles, crawfish étouffée, burger and cocktails was was meh. Batter on fried pickles was mealy and bland. Server forgot 50% of anything requested including an entree we ordered. We either reminded or did without.
Love this place! Have been coming here over a year now for their AYCE $25 crawfish specials on Saturday/Sunday. Sometimes they're busy so have to have some patience when it comes to actual service (drinks and other items on the menu excluding the crawfish) but the managers/cooks are great and crawfish just gets better and better after each batch.
No body greeted us took 12min for a server to come and bring a menu she looked upset having to help her coworker. The food is not as good, poboys were dry and over fry. Our food took a whole hour to get to the table.Gumbo balls tasted burnt. I saw other customers leave i don't know if it was just my luck or if this is normal around here. Not happy. I did like the crawfish etouffee....
