My mother-in-law was visiting from out of state, and this is the special occasion restaurant we love! Her birthday celebration was a beautiful dining experience, Ed and Yvonne who served us are rockstars. Food is always delicious and we had enough leftovers to have for dinner at home the next evening, portions are very generous. The bourbon glazed salmon that 2 of us ordered was amazing, as well as the fried asparagus appetizer that fed all 5 of us. Consistency and quality is over the top.

My wife took me here for my birthday with a couple of friends. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the appetizers were all wonderful. However the best part was our server Aubrey. She took amazing care of us and made the night an exceptional experience. Kudos to her. Great service.

I asked the waitstaff to box my food, and instead they threw it away. I don’t normally leave negative reviews, but the “oh that’s too bad we did that” condescending vibe from the server was particularly irritating. I don’t expect you to prepare a whole new scallop but it’s a shame to be so careless with expensive food.

We decided to go for a steak dinner on our visit to Houston. We chose Kirby's because of the reviews, location to where we were staying, and the fact that it was not one of those large chains. We were optimistic and skeptical at the same time. We have to say, from the moment we arrived the experience was exceptional. Service was attentive but not overbearing. The pace of food deliver was on point. And the food exceeded our expectations, each steak to the right level of fineness. They have it all figured out. When they found out it was our anniversary, they insisted on comping us a dessert, complete with customized plating, and a young lady appeared with a digital camera to capture the moment. Overall a top notch experience.

Well we made 6:30PM reservations for our Anniversary. When we arrived we were sat in the middle of the restaurant at a booth (not very romantic), there were much cozier areas to sit by the windows with a view. Our waitress was horrible, she hand us the wine list and just stood there rushing us instead of giving us time to review. The $70 filet I ordered had gristle and fat, I should have just ordered a ribeye. I added a baked potato and to my surprise my steak came with potatoes, this was never mentioned to me by the waitress. My wife enjoyed her meal, until dessert. We ordered a dessert to share and a chocolate martini, our waitress told us the dessert was on the house. It took 20 mins to get our dessert and martini, which came as an espresso instead of chocolate. When we mentioned it to her she just said my bad and brought the check. In my opinion, if you're spending $400+ for a couple to have a nice evening out you should expect a higher level of attention to detail, service, and quality of food.

I’m so sad about my latest experience at Kirbys. It used to be one of our go to restaurants. But after the dinner we had last night I don’t think we’ll be back anytime soon. The lobster bisque was so salty that I had to trade my husband for his sad looking wilted house salad. My lamb chops were super fatty and barely had any sauce which is usually super delicious and the main reason I order the lamb chops. The crab claws were flavorless despite being served in a bowl of oil. The potatoes au gratin were watery and flavorless as well. We also ordered the spare rib mac & cheese, which I didn’t even try, and we had also planned on ordering the Keylime pie, but did not after our experience with our appetizers and entrées.

Kirby's never disappoints on food or quality! Also, if you want one of the best waiters there then ask for Shay Wheeler! He took care of us from start to finish and made sure our meal was nothing but excellent! Thanks again for the spectacular service Shay!

A table full of appetizers at Kirby's is better than an entree in other restaurants! The Darioush wine is phenomenal! Great food, great service...10 out of 10!

Everything was great. The service is over the top. We went on a Saturday night and although they were steady busy it never felt rushed, too loud or ignored. Together we had sirloin strip, ribeye, one caesar salad and one house, calimari, short rib mac and cheese and the pecan pie - only 3 stars for the pie.

We had an 80th birthday dinner for my dad. They nicely seated us at a back round table for 8 which was nicely situated and quieter. The food and service were outstanding and they made him feel special. Would highly recommend!
