I had to choose the beyond meat (meatless) burger which was the only vegetarian option. It came with a side of fries.Vegetarian options: Limited vegetarian options.

We liked the gumbo. The dill pickle dip should be called tzatziki, there was not even a hint of pickle anywhere. While the shrimp and grits had decent flavor, the grits were gummy in texture like they'd been sitting awhile. The State Fare cheeseburger we ordered was good but I think there are a lot of places around where we could get a better one. Cocktails come watered down. Our waitress did a good job, but I doubt we'll be back.

The food was very poor. The hamburger was burned. I ordered a medium well but told them. I really prefer it pink, just not bloody. The burger also came out after everybody's food. So I wonder if we received somebody else's burger. The servers all seemed super busy. So we really couldn't get anybody's attention. We would have advised the waitress, but we could not even get ketchup or mayonnaise or salt. Since we were in a group of 10, We would have held everybody up since the service was terribly slow. The drinks were not a reasonable pour. My wife normally has a buzz after two drinks and did not in this case. I had two buffalo trace manhattans at 17.50 each. That is absolutely absurd for this level of restaurant. The chicken sandwich was okay, but their fries were not crispy whatsoever. This was a very disappointing experience for 100.00. We will not be returning to State Fare Kitchen. We have never had an experience. This poor in Hughes landing.

Tried to get into this place for a while, but the universe was trying to tell me no. Food was mediocre and the bar made my drink wrong and when I sent it back they only put in it in a different glass. The bartender had an attitude. Will never be back.

While the overall restaurant atmosphere is nice and the staff are all friendly, the food itself just didn’t quite hit the mark. I think the menu and the food quality need to be fully revamped. Fish for $38 was dry, lacked flavor and the fried chicken wasn’t anything to write home about and presentation lacking. Overall not somewhere I’d consider dining at again based on the initial experience. To be clear, it’s all about the food. I can dine in a hole in the wall as long as my food is great. Please be aware that I’m being generous in giving this place 2 stars as the food was 1 star.

We had a wonderful time dining here for happy hour! The drinks and food were fantastic. Our servers were all great as well. The only bump was the hostess; when I requested a table along the wall rather than the middle, she scoffed at me! It was odd since the table was just next to the original spot, the same size, and the restaurant was basically empty! After that, we had a lovely experience. The manager also stopped by to check on us after our food was delivered, I always appreciate that!Parking: The parking garage is about 2 blocks away, behind Whole Foods, with plenty of free parking.

Our experience at State Fare was incredible. The reservation process, the food, and the service were Excellent. We had a large party of 14 for a surprise engagement and they provided us with a room and cake table as well. They even helped us rearrange tables and chairs when we had a few surprise guests show up. They were so accommodating and hospitable. The manager Kim was amazing from start to finish, she was so helpful and took the time to congratulate the lucky couple and treat us all with a sweet treat to celebrate! Everyone's food was great, every order was correct, and everyone was full and happy when we left. They have a lovely outdoor area on the waterway and the staff even helped us take some Family pictures. One of my new favorite spots for sure!

The “Burris” Grilled Cheese was a great sandwich. It should be called a Double short-rib explosion. Awesome and innovative. Had dill pickle dip to start and the homemade chips were great. Definitely a new favorite restaurant.

This use to be my guilty pleasure restaurant but the past few times have been extremely lack luster. Food hasn’t come out hot, portions are smaller (though the price stays the same) and the food frankly has not been as seasoned or as tasty as it use to be.

State Fare was the first restaurant and brunch that my social/support group “Brave Babes who Brunch” took place at and it absolutely exceeded all of my expectations!!! Shoutout to Tamara, Kim and the rest of the State Fare staff for making this possible and being so attentive to us ? y’all were amazing! We fell in love with the sunroom and highly recommend it for a birthday, shower, big group gathering, etc. The atmosphere was beautiful, the staff was so patient and kind and the food was so yummy!! We did the buffet style for the girls to all be able to enjoy! Thank you again and overall 10/10! ?Vegetarian options: Great alternatives!
