Tonight me and my mother came to heritage to get ice cream. Walked in, didn’t get greeted but that’s okay there was people ordering. Ate our ice cream like nothing. A couple walked in and they are checking out, the employees asked if they were “ waco locals “ the couple says yes and why and the employee says “ it’s our waco wednesday local discount, you get 10% off “ me and my mother look at each other … Locals from Waco Texas but just brush it off our shoulders. The couple then leaves the store and got a “ have a great night “ me and my mother then decide to leave since it was about time to close and wonder if we will get a good night …. sadly didn’t and very disappointed. Although the ice cream was delicious the employees need more training on treating and everyone the same.

Tonight I went in to get me some ice cream. We weren’t greeted when we walked in. As we waited I hear the young lady behind the counter ask the customers ahead of us if they were from Waco. I thought she was just making conversation. We were served and paid with no issues at all. We sat and ate our ice cream and as another customer went to pay, they were asked if they were from Waco. Customer said yes and they said “okay because tonight is Waco Wednesday Discount” and went to tell them how much percentage they get discounted. The customers walked out and the ladies were very friendly to them and said good night to them. We left shortly after them and weren’t even acknowledged on our way out. I am a local and would have loved getting a discount and saved a dollar on my daughter and my ice creams. I was very disappointed to say the least. I am huge on customer service and always give my best regardless of race, color or ethnicity. There’s no way they thought I didn’t speak English since I did place my order and even attempted short conversation with the employee. I wish the employees had been a little friendlier like we have experienced in the past.
