I’ve always loved this local sandwich shop. The fresh made and unique bread is to die for! Anytime I’m in the mood for a sandwich, Schmaltz is top of mind. Perfect locations for a business lunch meeting as well

A neat old school sandwich shop. It gets busy, but the food comes out quickly. I had the roast beef. It was good. The bread was interesting. Apparently, it's all made on site and reminded me a little of sourdough.
Parking: There is a lot on the side of the building that's free. There was also street parking, but I'm not sure if it's paid or not.

Think Schlotskys. Their original sandwich is very similar. The bread seems to be the biggest difference. Missing the same crutch, but it is still very good.

Hands down the best deli in Waco. Great spot for lunch. Came here all the time in college. Haven't found anything like it since. Fun to come back.
Schmaltz's has delicious sandwiches that are not too filling and come on warm, crunchy buns. We enjoyed both the turkey and the cheese sandwich. Despite a lunchtime line the orders moved fairly quickly and there always seemed to be a table open. The shop is in the middle of downtown and I'm ready walking distance of desert or coffee afterwards.

Passing through and found this place via Google. Ordered the Schmaltz sandwich with potato salad. Both were fantastic! If you’re looking for something a little different, this is a great option. A dive restaurant on the inside … but who cares when the food is great?
