Probably my favorite brewery. Their beer is some of the best, and they keep their hours here and on Facebook updated.
Beers are great. Employees were welcoming.
Kind of torn on whether to write a review in the best kept craft beer secret in Winnsboro, maybe in all of Texas. Located in what appears to be an old, small BBQ restaurant, Cypress Creek Southern Ales is a quaint, personal beer experience. If you’re looking for frills and beer fads or an impersonal experience, this is not the place for you.
This one man show relies on quality in small batches. This results in his highly rated beers often selling out quickly, hence his limited hours of operation to the public. They’re only currently open Wednesdays from 5-8, and Saturdays from noon to 8. The owner, brewer, and server is Mike, an incredibly knowledgable brewer that impressed me with his friendliness and sincere conversation. His beers were top notch, his brewery was impeccably clean(including the restrooms), and he made two beer fans and loyalists(my brother in law and I) for life.
It’s always important to support small businesses, but in this case, you’re supporting a truly wonderful human being and drinking fantastic beer while doing so.
I only visit Texas once a year, but you can bet I will be supporting Mike every single time.
I really like this place. Beers are great, prices are very reasonable for craft beers and the owners make visiting feel like you’re visiting a friend’s house.I highly recommend.
Best brewery in East Texas.
outstanding beer, outstanding crowd and great owners!!
Great service, great beer, (Earned his brewmaster in Oregon - the Mecca of micro- brew). Awesome atmosphere.
Great beer
Awesome beer, great people!
Been going there over three years. It's the best craft beer you'll find in NE Texas, with a laid back atmosphere, and great people!

Small place with great home brew. The flight was $15 and a pint was 5-7$. Lived most of the brews. Great place to grab an ale and sit around and play a game or cards
Excellent local brewery. Choices are top notch.
This has to be my best ever experience at a brewery. The owners are awesome and very serious about their beer. The owners and everybody there are very friendly, I mean Texans are friendly, but everybody here is a notch or two above. Truly is a nano brewery in size, but a macro brewery in taste. They do things that I haven’t seen big breweries do - go and pay attention to how they fill their growlers. The only bad thing I can think of is their limited hours, although, however, that is even good on my wallet. Visit!!!
Very friendly staff. Good selection of excellent craft brews. Brews are well described and nothing is left out. They serve flights that let you try up to five of the brews they have on tap. Don't worry you can order full size pours as well. Must check them out if you are ever in the area. Only one downside, in my opinion, they are only open twice a week.
Great people, awesome beer!!!
