Great experience! Easy snowshoe trail to dinner at the Yurt! 5 Course rotating menu prepared in front of you by a fantastic chef. The chef and the yurt itself are new for this year, so it was a great experience and left so so so full, in a good way! Side note, it was toasty warm inside - so definitely dress in layers.

We had a great night at The Yurt! Brought some out-of-state guests in, and had a remarkable night that they raved about for weeks following the event.

I don't often go up into the ski resorts when I visit Utah - the traffic simply isn't worth the hassle - but heard a fine-dining restaurant that you could snowshoe in had opened and was instantly interested in making the trek to try it out.I'm thrilled that a spot opened up when I was recently in Utah at the Yurt, as the experience was splendid; the food was fantastic and the chef was very personable and entertaining. I typically don't enjoy being seated with other people at my table, but even that proved to be a pretty fun experience!Every course had a bit of adventure to it; the chef definitely has some neat culinary ideas that push you into trying things but isn't weird or too avant-garde. I have to really applaud how they managed to plate everything attractively and get it out quickly for all 30 patrons and made it look easy, despite it clearly not being easy.In all, I was delighted by not just the food and the service, but the entire experience, and intend to go back when I'm in Utah.

One of the best nights of the year! We celebrated friends 50th Birthdays at the yurt and it was absolutely perfect! Nicole met us for our snowshoe into the yurt and we were greeted by Alyssa and Chef Ben. Ben cooked a fabulous meal and Alyssa was an excellent server . . Nicole was over the top in fabulousness! She helped to make the evening one of the most memorable experiences possible. I truly would not have changed a thing. What a fun night and can not wait to book the yurt for another party!!

Alyssa led us up a wonderful snowshoe hike through a frosted winter forest at dusk. We were met by a toasty warm yurt and a glass of bubbly followed by an incredible five-course meal from chef Ben. My favorite (although it was near impossible to choose), was the butternut squash soup with morels, rabbit confit, and sage oil.We brought our own wine but they have a full service drink menu too.

We had so much fun snowshoeing through the forest up to The Yurt where we were met with the most delightful atmosphere! The servers, Alyssa and Nicole, made us feel so welcome and were very accommodating to our dietary needs. They were so much fun and made us feel like we were at a special family occasion (the family you actually want to around with)! We were treated with a perfectly portioned 5-course meal that was prepared to perfection! Big thank you to Chef Ben for all the diligent planning it takes to put on such a marvelous dinner! Thanks crew!!

The service is slow. Not the enjoyable kind of being slow but the excruciating kind. The whole experience takes 3.5-4 hours with a lot of waiting in between. The servers did their best but they are just understaffed and try to do all the cooking on the spot. You might argue that you can converse with your friends but it’s a small room stuffed with 30 people. This yurt can be louder than a bar, constantly polluting the peace of the mountain. The space heater is a cursed blessing. If you turn it off, the whole yurt perishes under the force of winter. If you turn it on, the people sitting next to the space heater might as well be a course of meal themselves as they are being scorched. You just wish the heater is in some quantum entanglement where it’s both on and off at the same time. There’s no running water or real restroom up in the mountain which means no hand washing except from a small water jar. I wonder how hard the staff has to try to wash their hands thoroughly (working under the assumption that they do) since you have to hold the water jar with one hand while you wash the other. The price is a rip off since it’s 200 dollars per person not including gratuity. The food is great but definitely not worth the price. With this price, you can have a meal at two-star Michelin restaurant at the heart of nyc. Instead, you chose to hike towards the yurt with no running water and B+/A- food. One might even argue the yurt is for the experience. A fun snow shoe hike and dine under the yurt, what more are you asking for? A lot more actually. It’s the culture appropriation at its highest. They used the concept of the “the yurt” as a shallow shell and stuffed all the unimaginative bland Americanness in that shell and charged you on your expectations instead of reality. All three stars are awarded to the amazing staff and the chef. They did their best but even their best is not good enough to defy the systematic failure of the yurt.

"Fine dining experience" more like FUN dining experience. Cost included a guided snowshoe tour through the woods to the Yurt. Upon entry I was greeted with much laughter and excitement, and delightful aromas of perfectly cooked steaks and veggies. The servers were funny and super nice. The food was a dream come true. Chef Craig Gerome (who ownes a sausage company called Geromes Market (also amazing they sell sausages at the farmers market) was our chef for the evening. He did a great job... aside from all the wonderful things you would expect from such an occasion, there are some points to note: primitive Yurt means no running water. If you are not ok with a porta john, this is not the place for you (unless you want to commit a watershed violation). Don't worry, there's a thermos inside for hand washing. Also.. primitive Yurt does not run on electricity. A generator and propaine fuel the appliances and heating devices, so prioritize warm layers over fancy outfit. Anyway that's the only real advice I have, besides bring some good jokes and positive vibes and sit back and enjoy this truly unique and delicious experience. My only real criticism is that there ought to be some sausage on the menu on the nights that Craig is working, also, there is a lot of snow accumulating on the newly built structures, making me concerned about the Yurt's longterm integrity. Someone really should remove the snow.

The yurt was such a fun night out with my work party. Getting up to the yurt was a ton of fun and easy to do. In the yurt there was enough seating for about 30 people. The food was great! The chef did a great job I just felt bad for him that it took so long between courses as It took us 2 1/2 hours to eat. Every course was tiny, the soup for example only had about 3 cm worth of soup or you get one 1 1/2 inch roll. The yurt was freezing as there was only has one space heater. it would have been nice if they had some kind of wam drink for in between courses like hot chocolate or tea. All they had was alcohol and coffee which I don’t drink either. Over all it was a great fun night out and something unusual!Vegetarian options: They did great with vegetariansDietary restrictions: They did great with gluten free option

We had a Christmas party there in 2019. It was cozy and warm. The food was exceptional! We have been yearning to go back! Last night we had our Christmas party at the Yurt. They have expanded the kitchen to the exterior part of the Yurt which allows them to seat 40 people instead of 26. Great they can accommodate more people per night which gives them more money. Yet it’s back fires in them. I was very displeased. And to pay $200 per person plus gratuity and drinks…. It was disappointingHere’s why:1. The heater was broken and most people were wearing their coats during entire evening.2. The main heater was broken. They did have one little space heater but pretty much did nothing for the guest. Inside the yurt I bet it was maybe 50 degrees. It was uncomfortably cold.3. The chef plates everything and then the waitresses bring it all at once. By the time they plated 40 plates and brought the food to the table everything was cold. The steaming soup I saw was luke warm by the time I tasted it. They need heating lights or something to keep the food warm4. My red wine was as cold as my ice water.5. For the amount of money spent, pretty disappointed. If you have reservations, bring a blanket, hat and extra sweater. The food is good and probably would have been amazing if it hadn’t been served on the cool side.

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at the yurt this winter and it was exquisite that I continue to tell my friends and family about it months after! The chefs take on chicken & waffles lives rent free in my mind for all time. I can't wait to go back to see what the Chef can create.
