In the area from Michigan for a scent detection competition with my dogs and passed this little place. I was ready for lunch so I stopped in. Wow. Seriously. Best pulled pork and banana pudding I think I've ever had. The service was great- the owner walked me through the menu and recommendations. My sides, potato salad and baked beans, were also excellent. It's a grab and go kind of place, the atmosphere is what you'd expect from a roadside spot. But wow, excellent food. I'll be thinking about that banana pudding for a long time. Highly recommend.
BEST BBQ EVER!!!! they have been an establishment for almost 15 years and it’s clear as to why. Their bbq is out of this world!!! They have two smokers outside that were cooking food as we arrived. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich platter which came with two sides. We devoured the pulled pork, coleslaw and macaroni salad. We also ordered a half rack of ribs which literally fell off the bone! The hot bbq sauce was so so good. We also ordered a side of deviled eggs which had a good kick of horseradish probably. If we are ever in Virginia again we are 100% coming back to Paulie’s Pig Out!!! Best BBQ we have ever had!
The owner is such a a great guy and his pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw on it was amazing!

Amazing bbq like straight up. It melts in your mouth it's a beautiful smokiness and the Mac and cheese just yummmm. I highly recommend, it's a lovely hole in the wall place that has the best dang bbq I've ever tasted. They have their smokers out front if that tells you anything. Highly

Love this little gem. The portions are great and is one of my favorite places to go on a Sunday afternoon for take-out. The bbq is great, the mac and cheese is great, and the coleslaw is great. If you are still hungry after getting a meal here I don't know what to tell you.
We went to the Blue Ridge Tunnel for a day trip from Richmond and almost just went somewhere in Charlottesville to eat afterwards, but I'm so glad I saw this place. After leaving the Carolinas, I've been severely disappointed by the barbecue offerings.This is the first place that's reminded me of home, and it's not even vinegar-based. The smoke flavor in the pulled porj cuts through the tastefully applied sauce they use and it's so good, rivals some of the best I've had anywhere. The mac and cheese will warm your heart (or maybe clog it, but it's worth it!). We also tried the green beans and coleslaw and can happily recommend all of it.For dessert, the banana pudding and apple pie were both perfect endings to a perfect meal. While you're in the area check out the Rockfish Gap Country Store and Brewing Tree, both are excellent. Perfect day and it makes me want to move out of the city just to be closer to this barbeque!

Paulie's pig out is the way to go! Great customer service and the food "good gollie miss Molly" delicious! Had an awesome conversation about how they smoke there food! Absolutely a must stop!! Oh by the way don't pay attention to any of the reviews with 3 stars they don't know what good food is! Oh almost forgot the homemade pies "sheesh" it just keeps getting better! Also the homemade Mac and cheese was amazing! See you next time guys! Thanks again on the way back to the beach we go! See you this winter!!

Wow! I'm not a huge bbq fan and when I do eat it my preference is Texas style. My brother picked me up a pulled pork sandwich platter with Mac and cheese and beans. It was so good! The pulled pork sandwich was the best I've ever had and that includes all across the US. I love the bbq sauce it was just enough and incredibly good. This is the best bbq restaurant in the entire region! I'm a small eater and the portions were enough for several meals for me.
