Great pastries. Lots of classic French varieties.

Arno used to be chef pâtissier at the French Embassy and it shows! They must be so sorry over there that he decided to retire a few years ago.If you go there, at Gilberts Corner, start with ribs at The Pit Stop Barbecue, the stand next to Arno’s - simply the best ribs in Northern Virginia!

9/15 UPDATE 2. Just picked up my order from Arnaud at Arno's Pastry. Arnaud rocks!! He explained what happened and all well! Place your order today. He runs this business as a one man team and his desserts are the best! Thanks for your amazing customer service and kindness, Arnaud! Changed my review to 5/5. The only thing better than a small business with great product, is a small business with a great product and excellent owner with great customer service! 9/15 UPDATE! next day, I got an email back and he offered to allow me to pick it up at his residence. Very pleased! Increased my rating. Will update after I pick up my dessert 9/14. I love Arno's Pastry but i guess they aren't reliable... that's what I discovered today. I scheduled an order for pick up today 9/14. I said I'd be there at 6:00 PM, knowing they sell fast. He said he would be at the Reston Market with my order. I show up at 5:55 PM and walk to where the booth normally is. Hes not there so I walk around the whole market - the booth is nowhere to be found. I asked the market employee where they are. He said they left early because they sold out and they aren't even supposed to early. How could they leave if they had my order that I placed 2 weeks ago? I wasnt late, so they couldnt have sold my order because I didnt show up... right? Maybe i did something wrong here but im just disapppinted because this was my "cake" for my birthday tomorrow. I know... first world problems... I'm just disappointed and very hurt because I frequent this business at both the Aldie and Reston markets. The one time I placed an order, the business couldnt pull through I wish Arno nothing but success in his business and I hope to continue supporting him because mistakes do happen. I just felt like I should share my experience here.

I echo all the comments about the deliciousness of Arnaud's goods. Fruit tarts, croissants, choux buns, etc. You won't be disappointed in anything unless you don't like buttery delicacies that are just the perfect sweetness. The thought that he sells his wares at local outdoor markets is crazy. Good for us that's his love.

Arnaud changed my perspective of French pastry. His skill on pastry is one of the best I have tried - perfect fat to sugar ratio. I am comparing to this standard and so hard to find something same or above.Pineapple Coconut, Lemon, Chocolate pistachio, Mirabelle plum and Linzer are must trys!I have also tried Mini pastries for couple of parties, excellento!!!! People loved it! He is very prompt by his online-email system to confirm the order. I wish he open more days in a week.

My review disappeared for some reason so this is a shorter version. Arno and his two or three pastry chefs are amazing. Everything is delightfully fantastic though some things do sell out. Usually I drop in for lunch at the BBQ tent, get some Salsa Dave salsa, and pick up 2-3 days worth of Arno's for desert. If you want to try your French they will speak and even help you. The young lady that is one of his pastry chefs is absolutely wonderful even when I mispronounced her name. Arno helped me with the pronunciation and that extra time learning more about French names was appreciated. He is so super nice and just a genuinely great person! I will say that some of the pastries they make appeal to the American palette and are a bit sweeter, such as the delicious lemon tarte!

Arno's pastries are amazing and he's very talented! You can't go wrong with any of the creations he offers. His chocolate croissants, lemon cake (he doesn't always have this so take advantage when you see it), eclairs, and various fruit tarts are to die for and beautifully presented.

Really delicious and probably the highest quality pastries that we have had in the area. Arnaud is fantastic and great to talk to! We met him at the Gilbert’s Corner Market in Aldie. His stall is a must-see stop on the way to Middleburg!

These are THE BEST croissants you can find in the area. Hands down! Such a sweet man running it. Will be dreaming of their crunchy goodness until the next time I can get out there. Totally worth the drive.
