I loved this place! My wife and I stopped by for lunch and had good food and beer at the bar. We met Sang the owner and told him we loved his place so much we would be back for dinner, beer and their live music. It's probably the most friendliest bar/restaurant I've ever been to.. period. Sang the owner, Rico the bartender, and the patrons are so friendly. Thanks Sang! You're food, beer, patrons, and hospitality is tops!.. Joe and Kathi, Cincinnati visitors. ??????
I was very excited to try the famous burger... it was fine. Not greasy, but also not special. My husband had the steak and cheese sandwich and it was also fine. Moral of the story: this is a bar. Come for the drinks, not the food.
Good food, great service and amazing friendliness- I agree it is a "Hole in the Wall" it is a gem amongst the usual "chic" restaurants on King Street. Rico, the co owner, was hospitable and you immediately felt part of the local crew. Gave us some great advice on Alexandria, too. Many local patrons there that also supplied info. If you are a friendly person that wants to be where the locals go and find info on area with good homemade food, this is the restaurant! Kid friendly.
The wait staff was friendly and the beer was cheap. The food was not good. We ordered the bulgogi hoagie and the blt. Both were soggy and seemed to be microwaved.
Food was good, with nice ambiance outside. Service was a little slow but understandable since it was busy out. Prices were high for the portions and you have to pay extra for a side, but this seems to be expected for Alexandria
It's a burger joint- if you come in with that in mind - maybe a 3. The service is good- very helpful. Don't be fulled by other items on menu -
Excellent drinks. ( I recommend trying the aztec fire ) from or was great and the atmosphere was lovely. Our server was very sweet and friendly. Highly recommend this place great location
Great food and service , enjoyable location and best hamburger money can buy.
wonderful place nice people.I like the food we orders cheese burger and salmon , I love the side dishes too,we ordered their home made ice cream
My wife and I just moved to the Old Town Alexandria area and we have been exploring different restaurants to visit for dinner and weekend brunch. We ran into Mackies while strolling up King Street and we decided to give them a try. I am glad we did! The service and food were on point. They have a brunch special of 6 dollar mimosas and they are made well and after a few you get a nice buzz. I had the steak and eggs and the steak was made exactly the way i asked. I have to say for a first time visit they really made a nice impression on us. Definitely will go back!
Great food and service, glad they are open for lunch again
S/o to the waitress who was fantastic, however it was really slow when I went and I felt bad because there weren't much staff despite the fact that it was a holiday weekend! Food was alright and also came out slow, and the drinks were subpar. Wouldn't mind coming here again but maybe sit at the bar instead of a back corner table.
Good food and excellent friendly service
Local spot that shows a great deal a love for guests.
Ordered the grilled octopus... which was overcooked (aka chewy), and "lobster" bisque which tasted just like Campbell's canned tomato bisque right out of the can... with no lobster flavor at all. I sent the octopus back, which did not attract the attention of the manager-on-duty (which it should have). So... poor food and poor service.
