We showed up with 20 people…teenagers included. We got marvelous service and the food was great. Absolute best selection of single-malt Scotch I’ve ever seen at a restaurant…!!! We were there until closing time..!!Kid-friendliness: We had 8 teenagers in our party and they wanted to sit on the other side of the restaurant (away from parents…as teenagers do) and the servers never missed a beat…totally took it in stride…we all had a fabulous time.

Joe Theismann's Restaurant was amazing! We were in Old Alexandria on vacation and stopped in for dinner. Everything was surprisingly well priced and amazing. My daughter and I got the filet mignon and we both loved it. One of the best that I have ever had. The staff was great and I cannot wait to go back. As a life long Redskins fan, the only thing that was missing, was seeing the legend, Joe Theismann himself. This is his only restaurant and I hear he comes in often.

The crabdip was delicious. My husband and I damn near licked the bowl clean. My salmon dish was seasoned perfectly. My husband had the fish and chips and he loved it.

Never had a bad meal from here. Bartenders are friendly and quick with refills and food doesn’t take forever.

We really enjoyed our dinner here! The food was all great (the crab dip was awesome), service was wonderful, and even though we had our kids with us on a Saturday evening it was a very comfortable environment. I definitely recommend this place when you are in the area!

On Easter Sunday, my partner and I were in the area and randomly walked in to have brunch. Upon entering, we approached the host stand and requested a table for 2 — we were immediately told by the host (I believe he may have been the manager on duty based on how he was dressed compared to the other hosts) that only bar seating was available and we needed a reservation to sit at a table. Fair enough we thought and left.I then took the initiative to go check availability, as the restaurant was half empty, and saw a reservation for 11:45am (this was in 5 minutes from the time we walked in and was not mentioned by the manager at the host stand), which I booked. We re-entered and I told that same man, we now have a reservation. After seeming almost annoyed, he walked us to a table (in a crowded section) up front, where seemingly all the other black patrons in the restaurant were seated at the time. We requested a booth and again, seeming annoyed, he walked us to our seat. We immediately sat down and discussed how we felt discriminated against. The food was amazing and honestly it was one of the best lump crab benedicts I’ve had. We also had great service from our waitress who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. As a customer, I believe it is crucial to address incidents of potential racial profiling and discrimination. It is disheartening to see such behavior still exists in this day and age — that it would almost ruin an opportunity to dine there. I hope others reading this that may have experienced something similar, feels validated. I also hope that the restaurant spends time looking into this further so that future customers receive better treatment.

I love it when a spur of the moment plan works out. So my BF and I decided to try this place on a Wednesday night because of its location near the Alexandra Amtrak. There's not a lot of street parking but there is a parking garage down the street. It wasn't very crowded which is my preference when I first visit a restaurant...love my server to be able to give me attention. And I was not disappointed. It's kinda dark so it's nice if you're on a date and want to watch sports. We sat at a high top behind the bar so we could watch basketball. Our server, Justin, appeared with the biggest smile and great energy. We started with drinks. Justin helped me decide on the Cherry Blossom Sangria and it was quite tasty. For food I had the vegetarian chorizo pizza with a greens & feta salad. My BF had the fish & chips. Everything was delicious. So glad we decided to stop in. Justin's energy was so positive and everyone was extremely friendly. We'll definitely be back again. I just loved the atmosphere.
