Hidden gem of a winery. Well worth the drive. Lots of award winning wines, red and white. Staff is friendly, not sales pushy at all. Beautiful grounds. Make sure to visit the upstairs if you don't want to sit outside.
Very lovely. The wine is great and the hostess is very nice and knowledgeable. We sit in the patio sipping a beautiful Chardonnay and Riesling and looking at the vines.
I really loved the sommelier here! She explained the wines very well and was so welcoming, knowledgeable, and kind. They’ve got some really unique wines you e got to try- my favorite of which is the Victorian red.
This place offers around 10 wines for a $5 tasting. About half are whites or reds and a dessert type.
The tasting room is small and will hold about 8 or more at a time per table. The rest is open space or lounging area on the second floor.
Outside there is a pleasant seating area and a large apple tree to relax under. Parking is a gravel lot and very spacious and flat unlike other wineries.
As of 2016 Va Go pass provides free tasting. Though at first they did not seem to understand what my card was for. Recommended double check the site for instructions on using the pass.
AL was an amazing host who did our wine tasting and actually makes the wine! The wines were amazing and finished easy both whites and reds. AL really makes you feel at home and explains everything you would want to know about the wines and the process. Amazing service. Bravo!
Both reds and whites are great. Family run estate winery.
Do NOT miss this incredible family owned winery. They have a great variety of delicious wines. Weekends they have fun opportunities with food and music. The atmosphere and hospitality are top notch!
Wonderful winery! The setting is great, and the hospitality is first rate. Amy is outstanding at providing the history of the vineyard and explaining the wines we sampled. We shared some additional conversations on a personal nature. Very welcoming! We will be back very soon?
Nice music, good friends and good wine.
We had the absolute pleasure of visiting Gray Ghost for the Holiday cork display. We enjoyed a tasting with the owner's daughter (I am sorry I did not catch her name) but these 5 ⭐️s are for her! Exemplary service and fantastic wines!!

Excellent wine! Tremendously friendly owner's and staff!! Ranger Reserve and the Chardonnay!! And Adieu!! Go after Thanksgiving for the holiday decorations!!
Great family run winery.
A longtime Virginia winery that offers a great tour of their facilities. A word about these: they are state of the art and simply very cool, especially the wine cellar (pun intended!). Our wine tasting was held by one of the co-founders and owners, Al Kellert, and it’s clear he loves his job and knows about his wines. Book ahead for the tour and tasting if you have a large group. They’re celebrating 29 years now so enjoy the mini museum-like display in the main area that tells the vineyard’s history (and for the adorable pix of the his and his wife’s (Cheryl) grandchildren).I would deduct a 1/4 star if I could because there aren’t many nibbles on the menu, but you can carry your own picnic to enjoy with your bottle of wine (you cannot bring your own alcohol!).Visited as part of a Spirited Wine winery and vineyard tour and it was lovely. Great experience.
It was very good and the wines are excellent. We did enjoyed the day listening to music, eating good food and drinking wine. It was a good afternoon.Staff was really friendly and informative with all questions we had
We just love this place…amazing people and delicious wines! It’s our go-go winery and we love Al, Cheryl, Amy and the family atmosphere. It’s a true gem in the area with a long history of making great wines.
