We ordered catering at this place. The owner did not tell us that the Parathas were just frozen packaged ones that anyone could buy. All they did was heat it up and charged us over $300 for it. Very scammy, I would not trust this restaurant at all for catering orders.

0 star would be a better rating.
The food here was absolutely disgusting clearly old and spoiled. Everything we ordered tasted like it had been sitting out for days. The chicken roast smelled bad and was inedible. On top of that, the restaurant was filthy and unhygienic we even saw cockroaches crawling on the floor near our table.
There’s no cleanliness, no quality, and no customer service. It’s honestly shocking that this place is still open. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone avoid Deshi Spice at all costs!

If I could give 0 stars, I would.
This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Every single item we ordered was horrible something was wrong with each one. It’s clear they’re serving old, spoiled food. The chicken roast they gave us was spoiled, and to make things worse, they serve it by itself no pulao, no sides, nothing. They actually expect people to eat roast chicken with plain white rice or naan. Who does that?
When we complained, the waiter said they’d refund us for the roast, then went to talk to the owner. After speaking with him, he came back and said they couldn’t refund it instead, they’d “give us something else next time.” Well, there won’t be a next time. The owner never came out to speak with us, didn’t apologize, and clearly doesn’t care about customer satisfaction.
Terrible service, disgusting food, and zero respect for customers. Stay far away from this place.

Today, I visited Deshi Spice with friends. We ordered chicken biryani, beef tehari, beef curry, khichuri, and chicken roast.
1. The chicken biryani was too oily.
2. The beef tehari had a strong smell.
3. The beef curry was overly salty.
4. The khichuri wasn't cooked properly.
5. The chicken roast was the worst; it was old and tasted terrible.
We called the waiter to complain about each dish, describing how they tasted awful, and requested refunds for a few items. The waiter then spoke with the owner, but the owner dismissed our complaints and told him to let it go. THE OWNER DID NOT CARE ABOUT HIS CUSTOMER!!
The owner’s attitude was unprofessional and disrespectful. It’s clear that customer satisfaction doesn’t matter to him.
I will never recommend anyone to this restaurant again!!!

Was craving Bangladeshi food and found this place. The chicken roast was just what I was looking for. The cha was good too!
Excellent food, environment, friendly stuff.
This Bangladeshi restaurant is a hidden gem, offering authentic flavors like beef nihari, haleem, khichuri, and fish curries alongside homely touches such as puri, bhujia, and bharta. The weekend specials are worth trying, and the mix of traditional dishes with casual options like platters and wings makes it a great spot for everyone. Affordable, halal, and full of flavor—it’s a must-visit for Bangladeshi cuisine lovers.
I’ve been back twice because I actually enjoyed the food! There’s not many Bengali restaurants in the dmv, this one is actually very good! And the owners are so nice as well

Excellent Bangladeshi food! Rui fish is highly recommended. The staff is cordial and helpful. Satisfied our deshi cravings.
Healthy organic food with great environment
Wow it’s their food so so good. We got the rohu fish curry and chicken curry and 2 bowls of perfectly cooked long grain rice.
The spices were flavorful and authentic, not too hot. The rohu was so soft and gorgeous.
Chicken practically fell off bone. Reasonable prices moderate portions. They have an eclectic menu, from pizza to haleem. But don’t let fool you. They really can do everything well. family place. I’d so much rather go to a true impressive hole in the wall with legit food and hardworking staff than anywhere else.
The environment got 5 stars because it’s as good as what it needs to be, which is pretty basic. The food and service shone here.
Highly recommend!!

The food was authentic and really good! We tried various dishes such as rui fish, tehari, etc. and they were all superb. Will certainly come back to try the haleem, biryani, and breakfast on the weekends.

Beef tehari is delicious. I’ve ordered three times so far and will be back for more! I gave 4 stars because the order of chicken roast, while tasty, didn’t have enough gravy and the two pieces of chicken were small. If they improve this, I will bump to 5 stars. I look forward to trying more of their desi and non-desi items.
Lastly, please give this new establishment a chance. Small businesses are great for the community and can only thrive with our support and feedback.
