Great place to see live music

really great service, I loved that there was so many nonalcoholic options (the rootbeer was fire!) The homemade cookies and mac & cheese was amazing and the prices were reasonable. Really enjoyed watching the bands. Look forward to coming again.

The Southern is my favorite venue in Charlottesville. The food passes the vibes. Food for all kinds of friends who want something green, something cheesy, something greasy or meaty. The music is always awesome. There's a lot of places to watch the music whether you're in the front of the stage or in the sides where its darker and out of the way. The Southern also has fantastic peanut butter cookies.

It is a small funky music venue.

Friendly helpful staff, good food, nice venue. It is handicapped accessible with ramps outside and a ramp inside by the ticket counter down to the main floor. Be aware, though, the sidewalks outside the venue are rough and sloped; you might need assistance. The cafe was accessible to my wheelchair, with the tables spaced well apart. Note, the food is made to order and may take a while to come out, in case you may need to eat quickly. I didn't check out the restroom. The music hall is on the same floor as the cafe, easily wheelchair accessible through a side door. I suggest arriving early if you want to get close to the stage, otherwise you'll be behind people. If you're ambulatory and can manage a couple stairs, inside the main door is a raised section with chairs and small tables, where you can rest and watch the stage. For sensory difficulties, the ambient noise was not a problem, I was at a black metal show and I've had worse problems with noise in some restaurants. I liked the cafe and the music hall and will definitely go back.Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible

Grabbed a bite to eat before before a show. Good bar food and a nice venue to see a band.

Great place to see a show. We saw nicotine dolls, and a perfect venue for them. Sound engineer definitely knows there way around the place and how it should

My favorite live music venue in all of Charlottesville! I saw Blitzen Trapper here and another local band here. The venue has a great layout such that every point has a great view. The acoustics are amazing as well. The food is good but I did not eat much so I can't really provide any recommendations.Vegetarian options: They have a great hummus.

Sunflower Bean was amazing, and so was the price of the ticket and atmosphere. I'm looking forward to more shows here. Bully is up next.
