Came here with a a larger than usual wedding party with a dedicated room to house all of us!! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful! They were very patient and kind through the whole process! The food was served hot and delicious! They had a couple of different salads and was perfect! The meats was cooked to perfection!! The dessert afterwards was a perfect ending to a wonderful evening! I hope to be back again soon when I'm in Farmville again someday soon! From my first experience here I highly recommend this place!

I ordered a club sandwich and my friend ordered fish and a salad. It was not good. Bread was hard and tasted stale. Fries were cold. If I hadn’t been hungry I would have sent it back but I ate most of the sandwich. My friend’s fish was ok but she had to ask for lemon and her salad looked awful, she didn’t eat it. The zucchini wasn’t good and it was cold. The tea was the only thing that was right and sweet.I’ve eaten at Charley’s many times through the years and loved it but the last two times I’ve been there it wasn’t good. I won’t be back again.

charley's is chill, the food is not bad and the service is usually pretty good. the "waterfront" is definitely questionable, but it's something. this place kind of gives me cabin in the woods vibes, idk something about it.

Party of 9..took over 2 hours to get our food..then half of table got theirs and other half got theirs 25 minutes later. Waiter was doing the best he could.He had 2 large parties and so.e other tables. Not enough help in kitchen or wait staff.Crab dip was great as always. Steaks not cooked to order..way over cooked.Didnt send back because of time it took to get there to begin with.Not looking like we will be making the ttip ftom RIC again....3rd time this has happened . Shame, food used to be very good.

This is my second visit to Charly's, and on both occasions, the food, service, and atmosphere was warm, inviting, and delicious...and the Carrot Cake was superb; not overly sweet, but perfectly balanced. Downtown Farmville is beautifully retro and delightful nouveau, Charly's adds that industrial vibe that ties it all together. Enjoy!

The steak I ordered at the restaurant left much to be desired. Despite being cooked to the requested temperature, it lacked the succulence and flavor that I typically associate with a quality cut of meat. The texture was a bit tough, and the seasoning seemed lacking, leaving the overall experience underwhelming. While it wasn’t terrible, it certainly didn’t meet the standard I had hoped for.As for the waitress, while she was polite, her service felt somewhat impersonal. There was a lack of attentiveness throughout the meal, with long waits for refills and little engagement beyond taking the initial order. While she fulfilled her duties adequately, there was a noticeable absence of warmth and enthusiasm in her interactions with diners, which detracted from the overall dining experience.

Excellent food and good service. The seafood soup or She Crab soup is delicious! You can dine outside if the weather is good and listen to the trickling water in the river.
Tried to go and support a local restaurant. Got seated right away. Not busy at all. Sat there for at least 10 min. Not one person came over and said anything to us. Just looked right at us and kepped going. Would hate to see if they where busy.

The one star is for the view. The food is less than appetizing. If you run out of coleslaw just say so. We waited about 30 minutes for a side of slaw that taste like cold shredded cabbage. I haven't been in a while and have no pjs a to return for mediocre food and a hit or miss server. Too many other places to go. I can't eat a view I'd rather have a good meal.

Great place and atmosphere with beautiful architecture from a very antique tobacco warehouse. Food was great and the service as well. They have a big selection of wine, beer and cocktails and the hot crab dip amazing.

Guitar player was great! Sat at the bar and had a good time. But ribs? Not so much. More fat than meat. But crab dip was great and service was nice! All in all a fun night.

This place has a lovely view off of the balcony, and service is always great. The food is solid, too. Definitely recommend it for a quieter meal experience than you're likely to get almost anywhere else in town.
