A friend and I went for the first time on Sunday and we ordered our food around 2:30PM, unaware the kitchen would be closing at 3PM, we paid and were asked to be seated. We waited almost 45 minutes and still had no food, my friend got up to go ask about something else and mentioned that we still had no food, I heard her say that, so I got up and went and talked to the girl at the register and the girl told us the cook was no where to be found. They called the cook and he said the kitchen was closed and he wasn't making the food. We got offered free Ice cream and 50% refund. We left never got our food and will most likely never be back.I don't like giving restaurants bad reviews but I feel like this is important for anyone who is going for the first time to be aware of, if you do go make sure to go a while before the kitchen closes.I will have to say that the poor girl at the register had no control of it and was very helpful, I just wish she had come to us and told us the cook left when they realized. Not going to say don't go at all but want to inform anyone who does to ask when the kitchen is closing.Sorry for the long review. They ended up giving me my full refund back and apologizing to me for the service. All in all what went from a moral experience went to a not a bad one.

So sad to write this because I've been coming here a long time, but it's just really gone downhill. The food is ok, but prices are high, and service is generally not great. I came in recently, ordered an expensive milkshake, and waited almost 20 minutes for it even though they were not very busy at all. The business hours are constantly changing--and I've been kicked out multiple times when they up and decided to close early. Plus, the bathroom is never ever clean. I really want to love my local coffee shop, but I just can't with this place anymore.

I went in with a friend who got an iced coffee, but didn't end up getting anything myself and after watching his exchange with the counter people and just looking at the selection I wouldn't bother going in again. He's used to going to that world famous coffee place and it would seem this place is nothing like that because no matter what he asked for they didn't have or they had something else. Watching them go back and forth was annoying and honestly this is one of those places in a college town where all the young people who work there look to have a bit of an attitude. There is BTW, no menu up that I can see, or prices. I was looking for a muffin, they had none, and none of the sweet items they had out looked appetizing. You pretty much had to guess what most of it was and nothing had a price. I assume from the way this place is run and the few customers I saw that this is supported mainly by locals. He did like his iced coffee but after having a bad experience in there on another trip to Farmville when only 1 person was working the entire place and I left with nothing, I now figure , why bother. There are plenty of places to eat in Farmville.

I love little coffeehouses like this when I go on my travels! Local quaint coffee shops that just brim with small town charm, and delicious brews. The shop was adorable, the coffee delicious, and the wait wasn't bad, even on a busy Saturday afternoon.

I never got my food. The entire restaurant was complaining about the service. After 1 hour the two people I was with got their breakfast and after they finished eating I asked the cashier for a refund. The owner doesn't give give the employees the "power to give refunds" so she took a picture of my receipt and said I should receive a refund in 2-3 business days. This place is poorly managed and I highly recommend avoiding it.

Really like when they have open mic on Sunday! Cold brew and Turkey TSA is my go-to but no matter what we've tried here, it has been great. Favorite spot to meet up for lunch when family comes down to visit.

I’ve been coming to Uptown for years when I’ve been visiting family, and this time was a marked difference. The tables and chairs were all dirty and covered in food and crumbs, and the food was really bad. I ordered a turkey BLT. The bread was stale and they forgot the bacon. Pasta salad was super slimy. Just really unfortunate to see such a great neighborhood spot go downhill like this. I wish them the best and hope someone who cares about the business starts to turn things around - there’s so much potential and great business history here.

Quaint and pretty coffee house with a nice selection of food and drinks. I was happy they had gluten free options for food and found that the sandwiches were tasty! Nothing here seemed to blow my mind and the store would do well to have some quiet music going so it’s not just quiet and then chatter then quiet again. Some music soothes the soul and relaxes the mind. But if I was driving though again I might go try another sandwich and drink a coffee! Go try it for yourself!

Uptown Coffee has been great every time I've been. I stopped in on Friday for breakfast after an early appointment. I got a Chai latte with a shot of espresso added. It was literally the best Chai I've ever had, and I pretty much have ordered Chai everywhere. The breakfast croissant was super buttery and soft. And the tiramisu was excellent as well.

I am in the restaurant industry and so it takes a lot for me to leave a negative review but I have seen a huge decline in customer service. My friend and I came in the morning of 9/22. We were not greeted when we came in. After approaching the counter one of the two employees working was looking down at her phone and without looking up said “I’ll be right with you” the other made herself a drink. We stood there for 4-5 more minutes as they busied themselves with other tasks. Finally our order was taken without any pleasantries exchanged or warmth. The employee informed me that she was out of half&half and only had whole milk. She poured the shot and I watched it die while she took another 2-3 minutes to finish it between glances at her phone. The iced latte was not good. It’s unfortunate that this is the only coffee shop other than Starbucks in the area. I hope another coffee shop comes to town and gives them some competition so that they have to step up their game.
