My wife and I went for our anniversary dinner waited awhile to be asked for our drink orders after we sat down which was fine as they were busy. We attempted to order an appetizer which we were told they were out of which makes sense cause some items are in short supply. We made our orders for our entrees my wife ordered fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and I ordered chicken parm we knew we were going to have to wait awhile for our food as we had noticed some other parties with extended waits which was fine. Our server Juan came and apologized for the wait and offered a free round of drinks for the wait. When our food arrived we didn't initially notice that the dishes were incorrect. My wife received the shrimp Napoli and I received the Romeo and Juliet both an upcharge from our original dishes due to the fact we had already waited so long we decided to eat the dishes. We asked for our check and to our surprise we were charged for the incorrect dishes as if the server had keyed the wrong entrees and completely disregarded our order and said you two will eat what we serve you. The bill was $13 dollars over what our original bill should have been. We didn't have an issue paying for what we ate, it was the fact that our order was intentionally disregarded. So disgusted with the experience we paid and abruptly left. No explanation was ever offered. Never have I been so disrespected as a customer in an establishment. We will not be returning.
This review is for the outside patio. We walked by on a quiet night with two kids in tow. Great customer service. They sat us right away and didn't seem to mine that we had a stroller with us. Love the outdoor seating with quiet background music and a friendly crowd. The appetizers were a miss. Bread for Bruschetta was stale and the Rockefeller Oyster was mediocre. The Frutti d' Mare was delicious!! We will be back to try the other dishes.
I was just going to go with lasagne because it would be easy (never found a restaurant that makes it as good as I do anyway) but WOW! It was really special. I will definitely be back soon to have another plate of that. The chicken dish with prosciutto and Alfredo sauce my wife ordered was fantastic as well! We've always had great meals at Ristorante Renato but I forgot just how good.
We enjoyed a lovely afternoon seated outside for a delightful late lunch early dinner. They accommodated our dog even bring her a bowl of water. Our meal was delicious and the wait staff gracious
We made a reservation a week ahead of time. We were put in a side room with a table of 15 or so, just us, on a table that could barely fit both drinks and food. The server only came to us three or so times- it was mostly the bus boys. The bread was at least a day old. The food was less than mediocre. We went for a special occasion, but it felt anything but special. Would not recommend to my friends.
Authentic and fresh. We only got salads since we had dinner plans elsewhere, but they were filling and definitely a good value for the price. I will be back to try the pasta!
The food was excellent. That's the reason of a 5 star rating. Otherwise, it would have been a 3 or lower. However, I noticed the help was not friendly. They weren't unfriendly either, but there were no smiles on any of the help. Their faces were stern and they did not even communicate with each other. This was our anniversary dinner, and I thought we would at least get a "happy anniversary". Our presence did not seem appreciated. Will we go again? Maybe.
Very fine dining, for family or clients. The staff is excellent the menu is well balanced. One of my better recommendations for the Fredericksburg area.
We ate outside for dinner and the atmosphere was really nice, when it started raining they opened the umbrella which completely covered our party of 8. Our table was checked on pretty frequently, our drink order was messed up but that was quickly resolved. We all enjoyed the house salad dressing. I got the Gnocchi d' Mamma. The portion was small for me but I loved the sauce, it was the best part of the dish and was delicious with the bread. Overall it was a good dining experience.
Great location right in the middle of charming, historic Fredericksburg. Attentive staff, good Italian comfort food. Juan our server was experienced and professional. Reasonably priced. Excellent stopover in our way from Chapel Hill to Frederick.
Love this place. Happy hour oysters, cafe diablos, authentic Italian food. Top notch service. Great outdoor area Our go-to Italian place.
Great place to eat, I had gluten free pasta and my wife had fettuccine Alfredo. The food was really good, we sat outside and relaxed, and overall it was a great experience.
It’s really surprising to me to see this so far down on the list. The food is consistently good, and the service is always wonderful.
First time here and won't be the last. Service was over the top From the host to the bussers. The only thing I wish the loud group would've sat outside. Server Vanessa was knowledgeable of the menu and assisted first time diners in choosing as the menu was quite extensive and everything looked delicious and it was hard to decide. Although we didn't order the Cafe Diablo we will the next time. The offer a military discount just not on alcohol. Thank you for a fantastic dinner experience.
Amazing, authentic genuine Italian food with incredible service. Our second trip to dine with them and it was better than the first time. The folks there really care and it shows.
