This place was really great. Our waiter was very nice and very good at his job. He knew what he was doing and kept things coming and not for just our table but the others he was waiting on. We were there for my wife's birthday and that was handled very nicely. THANKS to all the staff there.
Absolutely amazing! Worth the trip. The ambiance was lovely. The food was delicious. But the real gem that this restaurant has is the impeccable service. This is the reason to keep going back. Wonderful service is what really sells this restaurant and worth the price. One employee especially treated us with respect, professionalism, and the real charm that makes a meal an actual dining experience, Oscar. Be sure to ask to be assisted by him. Like I said, I will be back because of this exemplary individual. And I do hope that the @OmniHomestead continues to hire such impeccable individuals.

Food was really substandard for a high end hotel like the Omni. Thin tasteless lobster bisque, way over cooked and fishy trout, poorly seasoned steak which was misnamed a chateaubriand. The desserts were pre-prepared and terrible. Very disappointing despite a great server named Patrick

My wife and I were slated to stay at the Homestead for 5 nights last week, and over the course of just 24 hours, it became abundantly clear that we would be miserable if we spent our week, let alone an additional night, coping with the disarray, disorder, and low quality of service that the Omni Homestead was providing. While currently marketing "renovations complete" on social media platforms and their website, this is quite far from the truth. While renovations are complete to many facets of the resort, quality of service and the resorts main draw for us, the spa, have largely been overlooked and neglected. Here were our specific issues we observed in 24 hours:- Elevators are out in north east wing and spa wing with no plans to fix immediately - Bathrooms in public spaces are disgusting and out of order, with many things broken and dirty (including vomit that sat uncleaned for over 24 hours in the garden wing)- Public spaces are not frequently cleaned, with dirty glasses and items throughout- Resort is clearly still under renovation although it is claimed they are done on social media and on website- The spa is broken down, not clean (dirt and bugs) and is not refreshed regularly.- Initially placed in room next to elevator in a over half empty hotel- Room with a view provided was a room with a view of a roof- Sewage smell in second room that came in the middle of the night through the air vent- Stains on carpet in second room- Drilling sound in room throughout the day- Burning plastic smell in stairs to the spa- Steam room out for months in spa, and was not contacted by spa prior to visit, even though visit scheduled months in advanced (men and women's side)- Steam room is being used to store wet, dirty towels and had odor coming from it- Herbal cocoon in spa is maybe 80*F and we did not sweat (men and women's side)- Dry Sauna outside registered at 22*C (72*F)- The Chill in men's side of spa is out of order- Two of the heated recliners are not working in the women's side of spa- Bugs, dirt, old fruit, stale nuts and room temp "hot water" in coed relaxation lounge of spa- Service provider for spa was sick and coughed throughout treatment- Requested a gender specific treatment provided and was not contacted to switch preferences- Service and food at dinning establishments was subpar to say the least- Saw the server when we ordered and when the check came, never again- Took over an hour for food to arrive, and food was not what was ordered- Movie advertised in theater was not played- The arcade is broken down, with a quarter of games non-functioning- employees smoke weed behind arcade were guests can smell (no it's not the belts from the bowling)- Machines out in fitness center- Changing room for pool down stairs was disgusting with used razors, hair and dirty towels on the floorI shorted this due to character limitations and really would love to provide more context, but sometimes, the facts speak for themselves: this is no longer a premier resort with customer focused detail as it was just a few years ago.As someone who loved the Homestead, I really, really wish I was writing a different review. The Homestead is a beautiful place: a place where my wife and I fell further in love years ago and that has a special place in my heart. I hope that steps are taken to bring it back to the honor and respect it should be given and maybe this will help. I take no pleasure in having to post this.
The entire experience was top notch. The facility updates are very nice, experiencing the Holiday decor is an event to itself. Food presentation, service and beverages are outstanding.
First course for both eaters was superb. 1 of the two entrees was, as well. The second, overdone. Deserts were both sublime . The room is extraordinary- but the failure of the heating system brought an unexpected and troublesome cold - which was aggravated by the air movement caused by the failed HVAC's fans. The wine list was extensive - but the wait that ensued from ordering an obscure white while it was chilled would have been better managed had food been delayed until it was ready.

newly refurbished, magnificent resort dating to 1766 [older than our country]; well tended with fantastic service and beautiful grounds and scenery.DON'T forget to take the waters as Jefferson did, either on property at the hot springs octagonal pool, or the warm springs ~5 miles away.FANTASTIC spa and services, excellent masseurs.would HIGHLY recommend The Omni Homestead at Hot Springs, VA!

The staff was excellent. The pianist was also enjoyable. Expensive, but hotel resorts are like that. For the price, it should have included a glass of wine. The Sea Bass is the entree to get. While the appetizer and entree were good, I didn't care much for was the dessert. It was a beautiful apple tarte, but left much to be desired in terms of taste. It would have been much better if it were offered warm.

The food was very nicely presented. Menu description was inciting but food was average. Drinks average. Very pretty room and piano player was very good and they have a dance floor. Very expensive for the average food but the ambiance is what you're paying for. Oh but the salads were excellent!!!

This dining room is enormous for the small number of clients who were dining. We had a server who was slow, disorganized and not courteous. He could barely take and deliver the orders. Lucky the food was above average. Sea bass was perfectly cooked. Deserts were mediocre. This was a very expensive meal and not nearly as good as our dinner at Jefferson where Amber was a star service provider. Audubon was a disappointment.
Billed as a fine dining restaurant, but it doesn't quite reach that level. Food was good but not fine dining level. The grand piano player was excellent and made it very enjoyable. The lights could have been a little dimmer as the restaurant was bright. Our server Oscar was outstanding and made the evening very enjoyable. A nice evening and worth the extra money over the Tap house.

September 06-09-2023: While my rating may seem contrary to 5 star ratings, I'll let you decide for yourselves. This trip was planned by my wife for my 60th Birthday celebration on 9/7.Upon arrival 9/6 at 1:00pm, we waited until 3:30pm for our luggage to arrive to our room. According to the front desk, the bellman delivered it to a different room and we had to wait until they found the luggage. By that time, not wanting to ruin our appetite, we went to the snack bakery to grab something light to hold us over since we "missed" lunch waiting for our luggage. Once we got our food, we ventured into the elegantly adorned sitting room to find a place to sit. Unfortunately, the tables were dirty with items left behind from other guests and the only table available was one with fewer crumbs and a small glass vase with wilted flowers and noticeably dirty water. Evening: My wife reserved a dinner at Jefferson's (Only restaurant open during the week) on 9/7 for my birthday however, we decided we would remain onsite 9/6 and figured there would be enough choices on the menu to dine two nights in a row. I ordered a French onion soup that came rather quickly but after arriving to the table and unsealing the cheese, I had an onion soup with no onions nor onion taste. I ordered a filet cooked medium. The filet came medium rare, I asked my waiter (Steve) and he said, "that's definitely under cooked medium rare." He returned again with my filet, only this time, the top of the meat was charred, and the middle remained uncooked (medium rare). This is supposed to be a $600/night spa/resort experience. Next morning, we had plans to spend time at the famous water spa for the day. That included everything available in the spa. My wife's massage was in a room adjacent to construction so for hear, the angelic experience was less than comfortable. We ventured to the outdoor warm soaking spa which was enjoyable. While enjoying the sun a waiter presented us with a menu. I ordered the vegetable/cheese plate. It came with no cheese, just vegetables. Lunch time: After the horrendous experience the day before, we asked an employee on site their food recommendations. They said when their family visited, she took them to Crist Mill Inn at the Waterwheel Restaurant. We canceled my 60th Birthday dinner at Jefferson's and reserved a table at Waterwheel. They also recommended Warm Springs Tavern for lunch. Great Lunch!!! Evening 9/7: Dinner at WaterWheel was fantastic! Definitely recommend the Waterwheel FOR SURE!!!! Morning 9/8, wife went for trail hike (Great experience). Unfortunately for me, I had a mani/pedi reserved at the "spa salon." Pictures show guests in robes with drinks and smiles on their faces. I waited with another guest in the waiting room until my name was called and thinking I would be offered a robe, was taken directly to the pedi chair. No music, no beverage, no robe. I asked about the music and was told the amplifier was broken for almost a year. The other technician took out her phone and started playing her song list. Pedicure was not a pedicure rather, a clip and exfoliate and 15 minutes later, moved to manicure. Tech was obviously under skilled and after a few suggestions, painfully apparent, didn't know what she was doing. Entire experience was $207 less than 45 minutes. Again, Spa/Salon/Resort Experience. We dined at Waterwheel again 9/8 and loved it tremendously! Upon returning, I went to front desk to speak with a manager (Briana, assistant front desk person). Told her about our experience and received a call from the spa salon giving 50% discount on service. Was told someone would notify me about my poor experience and made sure to write down my information and acknowledged that they fell short on our visit. Never heard one word from her or another manager. Upon checkout, received an "appeasement" credit of $80 off my $2,800 three night stay. So, you decide for yourself if you want to risk this "spa/resort experience. I DO NOT RECOMMEND OMNI HOMESTEAD.
Good
The food was a buffet, which we weren't expecting. With the exception of the beef, the food tasted like it had been prepared hours earlier. Food quality was not up to resort level, especially for $65/head. Service was pretty good.

Came here for 4 days with family of 5. The place is still undergoing renovations. They offered an activity credit as compensation. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the variety of activities offered - mostly at an additional fee but reasonably priced in comparison to other resorts we have been to. The room was clean and spacious. Food at the various restaurants/concessions was good expect for the buffet breakfast and dinner. The decor was a bit bland especially for the properties history. Seems Omni took a generic approach to the decor.

The Dining Room was radiant with all of its historical splendor. The Dinner Buffet to Chateaubriand and Truffle Chicken was delightful and the service was top notch as you would expect from the Homestead.
