Mediocre food but cool vibe. Both burgers were overcooked, waffles fries were you standard flavorless frozen fair. Would not do more than a drink or two in this place.

This restaurant almost ruined our first wedding anniversary. Beware! We purchased a fall getaway package from the Mimslyn Inn which included a $50 voucher to be used in their restaurant. The only one open during our stay was the speakeasy restaurant or the breakfast restaurant in the morning. We planned on going to The Speakeasy to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary (the reason for the fall getaway to The Mimslyn to begin with). They do not allow you to make reservations. This is where a major problem lies. You have to use the voucher there during your stay, yet you cannot plan ahead and make a reservation. You can spend your entire evening waiting your turn while they have empty tables that they are not seating people at, while claiming they have a “waitlist”. Cool. Also if you’re staying at the hotel, there’s no accommodations to be able to eat anything in your room. So we had brought our wedding cake topper to eat for dessert, since we were there for our first anniversary. Before I could even ask if we could have it there, I was scolded by a nasty, rude, and ill presented waitress. Who didn’t even offer to put us on the waitlist. We decided to go somewhere else, and I’m thankful we did. After further reviews, I have found people mentioned food was undercooked…being pregnant this is a major concern so beware! We didn’t actually get to eat their food, but from what I saw while waiting to speak with wait staff, it’s nothing special. We reported this horrible interaction with the receptionist at The Mimslyn and were sent to The Chop House where we had an amazing dinner, and were also allowed to have our wedding cake there! The Mimslyn Inn and The speakeasy need to work together to allow people to make reservations when they have a package that included a voucher so they do not cause such a problem. They also need to teach their employees how to interact politely with people. Also maybe they should anticipate accommodating special occasions as this hotel is advertised as a special occasion type place. Though I would beg to differ.

If you are passing through or staying over in town, go eat here!
We just tried two types of burgers and a dessert so perhaps this review won't be that accurate when it comes to the food but that doesn't really matter because the service is what makes this place stand out! Professional, personal and pleasant - it's like you are making friends right away.
The venue is clean and cosy, nicely decorated. The menu is just extensive enough to give a good variety without losing personality. The burgers were OK, not more or less. I guess there are better items to pick. Prices are reasonable. The cheesecake was very good! Competent bartender.
Parking: Parking just outside the entrance.

Food was good, server was great. I would have provided a 5 star review if after dinner I had not felt I was taken advantage at the bar. I ordered a Bailey's and coffee which cost $15. The first serve which I could not drink was spoiled as I learned was last shot in bottle. $12 for a shot and $3.00 for a horrible tasting cup of coffee. Should have ordered off cocktail list at least I would have known the price. Experience ruined impression of restaurant .

Most restaurants keep a minimal staff and you have to be constantly looking out for your waiter to get his attention because he's in charge of at least 15 tables. This place is different they have plenty of staff somebody was always replacing something or bringing you something without you even noticing you needed it. I was a tourist passing by but it was appreciated very much the attention that was provided to each table. Thank you
