After Hungry Dragon closed on Lauderdale, I was pretty down in the dumps on finding a good replacement Chinese takeout go-to in Short Pump (I am too far away from Cheng Du). Then, one day, a flyer for Yu's China Bistro shows up in the mailbox. Hmmm. Something new. Worth trying? Later that week, my son said he was tired of Friday Night Pizza Night, and why don't we go for Chinese takeout? So, that's what we did. We ordered some classics: steamed dumplings, egg rolls, wanton soup, crispy fried noodles, chicken and snow peas, beef and broccoli, and rice. The food was delicious and fresh (not greasy!), and the takeout speed was prompt. The website worked too, although there are no dish descriptions, and I wish there were, because I am not fluent in Chinese culinary dishes. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised. Our meal came with a large rice, but that was not enough for two entrees. They could have included more. Plus, two fortune cookies for all of that food was a bit stingy. Still, that's my only nit, and I will be ordering again. I want to try more dishes. I would give 4.5 stars for the oversight on rice but will round up for a delicious meal at a good price.

Best in the game. Hands down the most reliable Chinese spot around. Never disappoints

I used to love this place and would rave about how great it was. Over the last year, this place went from really good, to so-so, and now not even worth going. The other day, I ordered vegetarian fried rice, it was listed on the receipt as vegetarian, however, I was given beef. I called that night to let know order was wrong, but they had already closed. I tried several times the next day, and finally was able to talk with someone. First, the person argued with me on the phone, saying it was beef. I let her know I ordered online, and the receipt reflected vegetarian add egg. After a few minutes, the person on the phone admitted that her computer inputted it wrong. She told me that I could just come down now and get another one. First off, NO APOLOGY!! I ordered a vegetarian dish, was given beef, and you couldn’t simply apologize? When I was offered another one, I declined. I told her than I appreciate it, however I needed a refund because dinner for tonight was already planned, and I wanted to rice yesterday, not today. She said that they didn’t issue refunds from this restaurant, however since I ordered online, I would have to call menu place for a refund. I then told the lady on phone that that I didn’t use door dash, I used the online menu ordering they use is through their website. I also let her know that I had called the night before, and they let me know I would have to contact the restaurant. The lady on the phone made a grunting sound and told me I could come in for the refund. I said I would be there is 10 minutes, but she then informed me that I would not be given a refund without the fried rice. I said to her that I live 25 minutes west, and would have to make an extra hour round trip for the rice that was at home in my fridge. She then said, that was fine, but I wouldn’t be given a refund without bringing in the day old fried rice.I told the lady that it was pour down rain, I was already in the area, couldn’t I just get my refund, seeing how you can see it was incorrect. She said “no dish, no refund.”This is absolutely despicable customer service. The person I spoke to on the phone said that she was the manager. She knew that this mistake was on the restaurant, and admitted so, however, she still had me produce the day old incorrect dish, and drive then extra 1 hour round trip to produce the dish, that she already knew to be wrong. So that night, I drove 25 minutes in pouring down rain to my house, picked up the day-old beef fried rice, drive 25 minutes back in a downpour, only to be given an attitude along with my $13. If I had died in that car on the way to pick up or return the food to be already wrong, would the restaurant have cared? That is something I will thankfully never know. But I do know this. That lady, the manager on the phone, did not care about my safety, convenience, or experience. We need to better our community. Do this by not giving any business to Yu’s. They will no longer be getting by $52 every 2 weeks. We’ll drive out of the way to go to China King instead.

The food was good and everything was great until I had to beg for a fork on a to go order .I also was giving one napkin . I mean really ! I normally hand them good money when I go because I order for 3 most of the time .Dividing one napkin 3 ways is not what I expected.

We used to live this place. Since covid, they have changed. The food is still good, but the last time we went, we were served like warm food. The serving sizes were smaller. We had to ask for rice and silverware. We prefer to dine in, as we live 30 minutes away. If you're close enough to enjoy carry out, they're probably fine. But I'll think twice before going back. It's sad to me because they were a favorite.

This was my second visit within one week. The food was absolutely amazing! I ordered the Lo Mein with Beef BOTH times I visited. The egg rolls are divine! I cannot say enough about how great the food was!!! The service was quiet, but that's perfectly fine. This is not a chain restaurant, so the food will knock you out -- and the price is really low for the amount of food you will get. I have lived here for years and regret I have not patronized Yu's Bistro before. Shame on me! But, I will be returning as often as I can!!! You should try this wonderful restaurant, too!!! You will not regret it!!!

The dumplings were average. We got two orders, each contained six and found them to be bland. MuShu chicken was good. Most restaurants do not provide enough pancakes, but this one included 4 in my takeout order. The chicken with peanut dish was nicely spiced and tasty.

Their chicken dishes are some of the best in the Richmond area. Definitely the best in Goochland

I'm very disappointed-this place used to be great! Ordered take out, sesame chicken-a spring roll and fried dumplings. Spring roll was good but I knew the order was not right because of the color of the sauce. Looked like sweet and sour sauce with a few sesame seeds sprinkled on it. And the sauce wasn't even enough for the chicken so I basically got chicken nuggets. I tried their fried dumplings everyone had raved about and they were terrible! Everything is sitting in the fridge-will end up tossing $25 worth of food! I also gave a nice 20% tip as I always do even for takeout. Won't be back.
