I would rate Old Peking Restaurant a solid 4 stars overall. My experience here has been consistently positive, with standout dishes including their seafood soup, lo-mein, and beef with green onions and several seafood selections. Not only are the prices reasonable, but I also believe it's one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. One aspect that truly sets Old Peking apart is their exceptional dining experience. The atmosphere is perfect for group gatherings, with a cozy and toned-down theme in the dining area. Unlike many other Chinese restaurants, the ambiance here strikes a balance between welcoming and refined, making it an ideal spot for both casual meals and a possibly special occasion.Additionally, I appreciate the quiet atmosphere, which allows for comfortable conversation without feeling too casual. It's a refreshing change from the hustle and bustle of some other establishments.Overall, I've thoroughly enjoyed my visits to Old Peking Restaurant and would highly recommend it to anyone craving delicious Chinese cuisine in a relaxed yet refined setting. Whether you're dining solo, with a group, or celebrating a special occasion, Old Peking is sure to impress.

I’ve been visiting Old Peking for years now first as take out and then dining in. The food has always been wonderful and the portions generous. Their dining room is very nice and the staff are attentive. The fried rice tonight was absolutely delicious- my only complaint was it disappeared too quickly.Parking: This restaurant is part of a small but busy cluster of shops. Parking at peak hours can be a little tricky.

Incredible disappointment. My daughters asked what meal I’d like for my birthday, and I asked for Chinese from Old Peking in Oakton. I went online and made a list of my choices, my mouth watering, longing for some really good Chinese. Sent the list to my daughters and as soon as the food arrived, I dug in. The idea was a feast that I could enjoy for a week, so many different dishes. I served myself a big platter and joyously dug in, to discover in minutes, I might as well have bought frozen Chinese at the grocery store. The chicken wings were a bit dry, the sauce too thick, and gummy. The Old Peking vegetable lo mein had very few vegetables, the noodles tasted bland, and the vegetables that were there looked limp and old…maybe recycled? Ugh. The sesame chicken was gummy, the chicken tasted off. The crispy lemon chicken was dry, the sauce gelatinous. Awful. The only thing that was fresh and good was one egg roll. I tasted no sesame oil, maybe not even garlic, in any of the dishes. This is boring, routine Chinese food that might get served at a church dinner where no one expects to be troubled by actual flavor. SO DISAPPOINTED!Vegetarian options: Vegetables would not please any vegetarian I know. Limp and seemingly old.

Great service at this family owned restaurant with a vast selection of food. Really wanted to go thai but my dining buddies wanted Chinese,...but in the end I got what I wanted, a really large plate of tasty pad thai. Had a nice serving of egg drop soup first. Nice decor at this restaurant and easy parking. Highly recommended Old Peking! Have never been disappointed coming here.

I love their food! Whenever I crave the cuisine, they are my first choice. I just wish they were a little less expensive

ordered dinner tonight at 16:22 pm cost $117.82 {with tax} If you are considering of ordering here, please go elsewhere!! The spring egg rolls and the crab Rangoon they were either cooked in old oil or they were re-cooked either way I paid for this garbage! The Orange chicken white meat and the General Tso's white meat was extremely dry and also tasted like old fried oil. When I called to complain, the woman who answered the call- was apologizing profusely. Then she stated the next time....I wouldn't give her a chance to finish the statement. In a restaurant Quality control must be maintained at all times there is no next time. When companies go on the defense right away and then get mad at you, you can only wonder why? If you have money to spend on a meal, don't spend it here. If you do, you have no one to blame but yourself. I hope I don't get sick with what I've consumed! Great service, food, and ambiance. The restaurant is quiet, clean, and has lovely decor. This is not your typical Chinese American food. This is traditional, delicious and perfectly balance Chinese food worth every penny. The servings were perfect for family style or individual eating. I will be coming back again and again to try more of their dishes

Food and service are always great at this restaurant. The menu is classic Americanized Chinese food. I love the wonton soup, pork dumplings, fried rice, orange beef, sesame chicken. I highly recommend!

This restaurant is located in the mall area of Oakton, so parking is available everywhere. It is a nice, clean, cozy with good ambiance. We had a very good lunch with a few friends. The foods and services are quite good. The Peking duck is very crispy and delicious. We also had the beef noodle, combination seafoods and string beans. They’re well prepared and tasty. Highly recommended.

I’ve never been to this place. I met him today and I loved it. It reminded me of some restaurants in my country. Your food has a pleasant taste. They have a wide variety of dishes, for all tastes. Your staff is attentive and friendly. Its parking lot is ideal for bad weather days, just a few steps and you will be indoors. Highly recommended if you want to eat Chinese food!!!! ????

I grew up coming to Old Peking and I make it a point to order whenever I'm back in town. It has never disappointed in over 30 years. The hot and sour soup, beef lo mein and General Tso's chicken are household favorites.

For NYE, my family and I ordered take out from Old Peking and it was delicious. We ordered (2) spring rolls, (1) pan fried dumplings, (1) hunan beef (spicy) and (1) Peking duck with large plum sauce and extra pancakes. The Peking duck was amazing as it’s been a few years since my family and I have had it and there was no disappointment here! The skin was crispy, the entire duck was sliced and placed into a container and for the few who might be curious- yes, the bones were included so that collagen bone broth can be made later. My family and I were ravenous and I forgot to take pics so I will reorder all of this again just to take pics of the delicious food and just to have more Peking duck.I don’t understand why there were negative reviews previously left but I am surmising it is due to certain people who are not familiar with Asian customs but this is definitely a gem and should be in rotation for take out choices. Thank you!
