I took my 21year old Granddaughter to shoot the afternoon of March 7, 2023. We walked in the front door and were nicely greeted and directed to the range check in desk. A senior citizen gentleman was very pleasant in getting us checked in. I been shooting many years, but this was my Granddaughter’s first time to shoot pistols. We watched an eight minute video which was very helpful. ( Alex Baldwin should have paid attention to his training video! )We moved to the range and followed all the safety protocols. Ray the range officer a retired West Coast Police officer was very kind and a great help to my Granddaughter. She had a great time and was getting her shots in the center of the target. When we left the staff wishes well all way out the front door. It was really a great experience and I will bring others to Colonial Shooting. Thanks to all the great people who work there. My review should reinforce what it means to be nice to people.

I paid $150 for the shooting range experience. It was my first time using a handgun, and I realized I wasn't as skilled at aiming as I am with ARs. Andrew, a short black man with a low cut (if my memory serves me right), approached me and was extremely rude. I have video evidence of our conversation, capturing his disrespectful behavior. This has left me feeling upset and frustrated during what was supposed to be an enjoyable first-time experience.

Absolute clown show. Was told over the phone that there were no reservations and proceeded to wait 30 minutes in line just to be told that there was a 40 minute wait now. What a joke this place is

Worst range I've EVER been too!!! You can barely even hear the Safety video. The check in process was really long. The workers inside the range was very annoying and bother some while loading and shooting, which made it hard to concentrate. All your weapons and cases have to be inside the very small booths which made it very difficult to move around in your booth along with the casing all over the floor. The workers would literally come tap you on the shoulder while you attempting to shoot. Two arguments occured inside the range with the workers and shooters. The overall experience was definitely no fun and very controlling. I wouldn't suggest going if you looking to enjoy the art of practice shooting or training.

I always love going here. The staff always make it a good experience too. Even when I was learning to shoot they were patient and understanding.

it had been a while since i last went shooting so i needed my memory refreshed. the RSO Cole was super helpful and made it easy to feel comfortable. 9mm ammo was expensive, wouldn’t buy it here again. but overall a really good experience and i’ll definitely be back :)

I am used to shooting on private property out in the middle of nowhere, but recently moved to the Richmond area. So I was new to shooting at indoor ranges and I'll admit I was a really nervous. It can be nerve-wracking entering an indoor range for the first time. It doesn't help that I am a petite woman still somewhat new-ish to the gun community. But the staff here are so wonderful. Every single one of them was so friendly, welcoming, and funny. They truly made this place worth every minute and dollar I spent at this range.I wish I got everyone’s names, but the staff I remember went above and beyond are: Luke who was extremely helpful to me in the range. His advice actually tremendously improved my groupings. And then there was a guy at the sales counter (I think John or Josh?) who helped talk me through the best way to do a long-distance move with firearms. I had called in a bit of a panic trying to figure out how to ship them, and his advice really helped.I only have one complaint and that’s the air quality inside the range. The ventilation doesn't seem as strong as it should be and I frequently found myself inhaling fumes.I would still highly reccommend this range though. Thanks for being so welcoming!

Great friendly and clean range. Great instructions for safety. Everyone is so helpful. Cliff was the BEST, he actually improved my shooting accuracy .I'll be back. Thanks so much. Great Vibes!

Went to the CSA to celebrate a birthday and was not pleased with the service from the employee behind the counter. Was quite rude while we checking in and browsing for a rental, especially it being our first time at the academy. However, the safety officer on the actual range was very nice and helped out my family with specific questions we had regarding the rentals.

This is a great facility! It's clean, neat, and staffed with true professionals that are passionate about their job. I took their beginner Firearms class there and I felt like I got my money's worth. We had quite a bit of range time with firearm safety as well as a walk through on laws and regulations.

First time range EVER with my cousin (both of us women) accompanied by someone who knows guns. The instructor was experienced in knowing what women want out of their first time dealing with a gun (knowing we wanted to stick to the lighter recoil guns). He also gave us a briefing on how to handle them and cared about our overall enjoyment with helpful tips he must be used to explaining to first-timers.

One of the worst experiences I've ever had at an establishment!Starts off with absolutely no greeting or direction on as what to do. Wait through an absolutely awful line of 1 person for 25 minutes to be told we didn't do something, WE HAD NO IDEA WE NEEDED TO DO. The average customer wait time was about 15-30 minutes, but this was just to be talked to in line. After the absolute nightmare of the entry we finally get on range 1.5hrs later. The only positive experience was the facility range and the range master on range 1 lane 5 12/26/2023, he was amazing and an awesome gentleman. Don't have a name but glasses and dark facial hair with a tan work jacket. Great guy. Then just to ruin it again the older gentleman from the counter runs out on range, grabs my shoulder and screams "who let you guys out here we lost your license". So yes, once again one of the worst experiences for any establishment I've experienced. Range master guy needs a raise. Everyone else needs replaced badly.

I have been here a couple of times, and yet to have a negative experience. The staff has been nothing but extremely helpful! I would recommend ? this place!!!!

Most of the employees are nice. However, I feel as if the place is a little to militant. I did receive great service when I needed help and my only complaint is that they are very militant you can tell they are probably veterans so that’s probably why. In simple terms they are just strict and come across slightly rude or agitated by your presence.
