Went for lunch. The bread was amazing... Warm, soft, with just the right amount of crunch. The poor server, by himself, while 2 other gentlemen Willie nillied around the bar. It was 20 minutes before our order was taken. My partner ordered the eggplant rolatini... Half or not cooked eggplant, with a cheese blend reminiscent of sour cottage cheese, and not ricotta, and topped with what I can only assume is flavorless canned tomato sauce, and a half plate full of tomato water.I ordered the meatball sub! Boo... Shame on Franks. The bread, was still amazing! The "meat" balls were of questionable quality, more akin to cafeteria, pre-made meatballs.... Spongie, flavorless, and gross! Topped with same tomatoes water sauce and cheeese. It was gross, on gross, on gross, with good bread.Hot take: stay for the bread and then leave!

So very disappointing that it was a terrible experience from the beginning! It used to be so good, especially when Frank was there on the weekends. This time I took my 2 guests on a Wednesday night with a 7:00 reservation. We were seated at a big banquet table by the Front window under bright lights. Once we finally got our appetizer, we had to for 3 small plates so we could share. We ordered Lamb Chops for $40.00, Halibut, tiny piece swimming in plate of sauce, and my large Pizza, that was described as New York Style. It was very thick and chewy with a soggy center. Not New York thin & crispy at all! My guests did not receive the side pasta, nor any bread! Halfway through the meal, we asked our waiter for the 2 salads at least. So they had salad after dinner! The manager/chef sent over 3 baby connolis but never came by to check on us or apologize for this awful dining experience! I was so embarrassed that I brought them to this restaurant. Did I mention the 3% credit card fee? It was $146.00 for House wine, 1 calamari appetizer, 1 lousy Pizza, 2 overpriced and mediocre Entrees without the Bread and side Pastas that the Menu said was included! I called the next day to complain and the Manager was very rude and condescending! He actually told me, oh well- you've had good meals here before! Never even apologized for that Disappointing, Disaster Dinner! Save your money and lots of aggravation! There are plenty of great Italian Restaurants around. Franks is not in the catagory!Too bad there's no Star for a Zero rating!

First and last time.Service was much to be desired. The server literally handed my wife our menus and had us seat ourselves. The restaurant side was empty other than ourselves. Food was mediocre and overpriced.

I had been meaning to try Detroit Style Pizza Night (every Thursday) for at least a year. Pleased to report it was nothing short of amazing. The artichoke hearts used for the topping appeared to have been fresh (boiled or steamed), not from a can. The sausage was delicious. Calamari seemed to have been prepared to order and was very good, although we had to ask for lemon. My dining partner had the Chicken Parmigiano. She commented the breaded cutlet may have been frozen. We shared the salad that came with her meal. Very crisp and fresh. Bleu cheese dressing was thick and crunchy. My Negroni was too heavy on the sweet vermouth, too light on the gin and Campari. Overall, a good experience. I'd definitely go back, especially for the Detroit Style pizza. Bonus that they've upgraded the decor with stained wainscoting and granite table tops since the last time I was there. The service was a little slow and inattentive. We were there a good while. I had to ask for the check.

Tried the Detroit pizza. It was incredible. Authentic. Generous toppings. Perfect crust. Definitely amongst the best pizza's in RIC. Service very good, prices fair.

The worst dining experience I’ve had in a long time. We waited an hour for just bread and our salads (which we had to ask for) and waited over an hour and a half for our food even though we ordered right when we got there. The bussing staff helped us with our experience more than we even saw our waiter. The food came out warm not like it had just finished cooking and was very mediocre. I always have recommended this place but won’t anymore due to the service lately.
I've eaten at Frank's a few times and it's always been decent. I usually get a white pizza but tonight I tried a traditional pizza and chicken parm sliders. The pizza had so much oregano/spices sprinkled all over it, that it smelled and tasted like grass. I'm not sure I've ever gotten a pizza with dried herbs on it... They're usually at the table for diy. I ate one piece and won't eat more. The chicken parm "sliders" were on regular sized burger buns, and they were drier than the desert! I ate one bite. I spent $40+ on this meal and have eaten none of it. I'm extremely disappointed.

Molto bene! Genuine Italian food! If you're searching for a quaint little spot to cop a squat at for REAL Italian dishes, including REAL hand-tossed pizza, then Frank's is the place.Frank, himself, even makes his rounds to the customers and helps out around the restaurant.Doesn't get better than this! Vegetarian options: There are plenty of vegetarian pasta dishes, including choosing your own pizza toppings, with lots of options.Parking: Large parking lot with handicap parking available, as well.

Last night I had the most amazing white pizza with whipped ricotta on top. It was so good I craved for breakfast - it was still awesome reheated. It was a well seasoned pizza. Not bland and very good crust and not too thick but if you like thick crusts on Thrs they have a thick pies - people talked about the cup pepperoni being fb so good!I felt like family - met two long time locals and a couple that’s been regulars since moving here in 2020. I’ll be back again soon!

Their food is always delicious. Service is great. Homey atmosphere just like the restaurants of the old days, where you'd go for Sunday dinner with the family!
