It's hard for me to honestly rate this place. I ordered gyoza, tonkastu-don, and some nigiri. The gyoza was superb, it was exactly as good as I would expect it to be. The sushi I ordered (tamago, eel, and salmon) the tamago was good, not great, the texture of the egg was a little rough but tasted good, the salmon however tasted like it might have been old. The eel! The eel was amazing, honestly the high light of the entire meal. Sadly I only ordered 2 pieces of it. Now to the truly disappointing part. Donburi is a personal favorite of mine. I've probably eaten over a hundred don bowls, and this was easily the worst bowl I've ever had. The pork was so bland I could hardly tell it WAS pork. The rice had this taste to it that reminded me of plastic. And sadly the egg and onion did nothing to add any flavor to the dish. As I said at the top, it's hard to rate this, because some of the dishes were great. Just not all of them.

I saw the reviews and was super excited to try a new sushi spot. The rolls were small and lacked flavor and freshness. I’ve had better sushi from Kroger’s. I normally get sushi from Red Salt, but was looking for a new low-key place for sushi take out. Hard pass.

Way too slow!!I’m sorry to rating this place so low because I love their food and I loved going there when they had dining in. But the last few times I’ve ordered carryout it has not been ready when I got there at the correct time and I’ve had to wait as much as 1/2 hour for it. First time was the worst and I thought it was a fluke, so I’ve given them 2 more chances. It seems to be their standard procedure these days. I’m not going to order carryout there again. Not worth the aggravation. If they ever open up again, I’ll give it another try.

The sushi is a little on the expensive side, but for what you get, it is worth every penny. It's also worth noting that for the current time, it us take out only. Dont let that discourage you though, because this is the best sushi spot in town. The party trays are recommended as you get a lot more for your money and they give a wide variety to try from. The specialty rolls are incredible and we have yet to find one that we dont enjoy.

We just had the best sushi we’ve had in a long time from Jing Sushi. Everything was super fresh and the rice was even super flavorful. Highly recommend!

Always have the finest quality sashimi. Great customer service. Sami is a gracious hostess and Raymond is a skilled sushi chef. The kitchen produces some great fare, too! Lovely, wuiet ambiance great for social gatherings and intimate business meetings.

I love Jing and have been coming here for three years now. Their sushi is pretty good quality for the price and it's in a great location. However, tonight I went and ordered my usual two rolls and asked for my order to be ready "ASAP" (usually this means 10-15 minutes). It took over an hour and a half to get the rolls and when I asked for any clarification on when the order would be ready, I was given nothing. I was also not the only person out there. From any given time, there were 5-10 of us waiting for our orders. When looking inside, there was only one Sushi chef preparing orders and another person taking orders on the phone. I understand that it is COVID and there needs to be a certain level of social distancing, but that was borderline ridiculous. I might go back to Jing after the pandemic is over, but for now, they have lost my business.

My top site for quality Japanese food. The bill won't break you. This place has positive reviews for a reason.

Took them more than an hour and a half to give me my food. Will never be coming back.

I'm always looking for great sushi in Richmond, especially delivery during covid! A lot of sushi places don't seem to be delivering right now, and it can be hard to tell which are good. I tried Jing on a whim, and it did not disappoint! The sushi was fresh, perfectly sized, and delicious! I got spicy tuna and eel rolls, my two go-tos, both were great! I ordered through Grubhub, so haven't had any direct contact with Jing staff yet, but look forward to visiting in person once dining is a bit safer!

Fine, but don't go out of your way to patron this place. The service was efficient and pleasant - but the food is super bland. There are a handful of other places in Richmond to get better sushi - honestly, I'd go to Publix before I came back here.

I may be a vegetarian, but I freakin love Jing Sushi. I have dreams about the sweet potato roll and the tofu skin roll. My husband and I order from here often.

Jing Sushi is the best and most authentic Japanese food I've had in RVA (which is funny, because I think the owners of Jing Sushi are Chinese). The sushi is excellent--I always get the salmon which is buttery and melts in your mouth. But their homestyle dishes stand out too. Katsudon is moist and tender and super filling, tastes just like okaasan (mom) would make it. Also don't miss the tempura udon, by some magic each fried shrimp is like 8 inches long and it always makes grin like a crazy person. The small location sometimes gets stormed by muggles on Friday evenings, but on weekdays it is an island of sanity.
