It is not the place for a traditional meal. The offerings were tasty but lacked the usual sides. So if you order chicken, you get chicken, yea chicken. You can always have the veggies when you get home.

6 reasons why you should NOT visit Laura Lee's.1) Superb experensive. Prepare to spend $50 bucks and find yourself leaving restaurant hungry.2) List of Menu items are ridiculously small.3) No adjacent parking, can be hard to find street parking.4) No conventional well-known items are available. Even if you see some of them on the menu, they won't be available in real time.5) Main Entrees are very small in quantity. Quality is okay, definitely not worth the price.6) Service was superb slow. The replacement choices provided by the server were very poor, in terms of knowledge and item taste/quality both.Within 1 mile radius of Laura Lee's, go anywhere to have better food served in less time for less price. Please let me know if you find one good reason to visit Laura Lee's. I am genuinely curious.Parking: Hard to find

Laura Lee's has become our absolute favorite spot in the neighborhood, and it's our top choice for both date nights and entertaining out-of-town guests. The restaurant has consistently exceeded our expectations, making it a go-to option for creating memorable experiences. One standout feature that sets Laura Lee's apart is their exceptional accommodation for dietary restrictions. As someone with gluten sensitivity, I appreciate the effort they put into ensuring a safe and enjoyable dining experience. The staff is knowledgeable and always willing to assist in tailoring dishes to meet specific dietary needs or address food allergies.Hands down, they boast the best cocktails on the Southside. The mixologists here are true artists, crafting unique and flavorful concoctions that never fail to impress. Each sip is a delightful journey through a symphony of tastes, and the presentation is equally as impressive. Whether you're a cocktail connoisseur or just looking for a refreshing drink, Laura Lee's has something for everyone.Service at Laura Lee's is consistently excellent. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about creating a positive dining experience. From the moment you walk in to the time you leave, you feel well taken care of.
Have been for dinner and brunch. Both were outstanding. The fried chicken is the best I've ever had. The "plate" on their brunch menu is to die for. Service is either amazing or average, so hit or miss. Despite that, it's my fave restaurant in Richmond.

Cute place but it’s a bit out of nowhere. It was quiet when we went at a weeknight. Only two tables were dining there. The service is great, the waiter is very patient and friendly. The food is good but not great. I had the seared scallops, the scallops are big but I don’t get why it sits on the bowl of soup, and the soup is also too salty. I might come back to try other dishes, the menu looks pretty interesting.

We tried a mock tail Fiona and the Honey hot fried chicken. It was very very good. The chicken was so tender and moist, then the hot honey you could dip. We will be back.

Laura Lee's is one of my favorite go-to's in RVA. It's cozy, warm, casual, and when the weather is right, the garage door being open is a treat. Always feel welcomed, and have noticed lots of neighbors there, too. I've been for special occasions, as well as a quick seat at the bar for a drink, and it's always great. My in-laws and family when they visit town just love it. Chef Mark knows just what he's doing in the kitchen: As soon as the food comes out, the conversation dies down cause we're having a "food rush." Get over to LL's soon!
