I've gotta agree with Kyle, we are lucky to have this little cafe in downtown RVA.For the price you pay I think this place serves up some excellent quality lunches. Their sandwiches aren't going to win any awards for being revolutionary and no menu item will ever turn the culinary world upside down, but if you want a good sandwich that brings you back to the ole days of Drugstore Counter style sandwiches, this is your place.

CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE. I ordered an Italian sub and when I walked back to the hotel I found they'd given me an American (I can't eat turkey because it gives me gout and American cheese makes my pants explode). Threw it away.

Nice people and quality food. Good value especially being downtown.

I have had every sandwich, sub, and wrap on the Manna Cafe menu. I did this in four months and spent roughly $350 on 40 lunches. It was a delicious and satisfying lunch food adventure. The place may not get the credit it deserves for serving superb lunches to the downtown area.

So .... this place is a bit odd to understand. But in a good way. The main stock in trade appears to be sandwiches. But they have no cooking hood and do stuff on hot plates. I have had the sandwiches and they are superb. In addition, they do offer these incredible heated kegs of the most tremendous soups. Turkey rice, chicken noodle, chicken pot pie, chili...to die for! I don’t know if its pre prepared or what? But the best soup in perhaps all of the world! Thank you for your exceptional work Manna people.

This place is great! I'm a little addicted to their lunch time sandwich deal. They're always nice too!

Only go if no other option. Ordered a turkey sandwich & it's the first time EVER that I didn't enjoy Boar's Head meat. I also got a pickle on the side & it was extremely sour. At least get the box deal so you save a few dollars. Suntrust cafe offers sandwiches 100x better.

Manna Cafe is a hidden gem, found in the back of the bank of America building. They make sandwiches using Boars head products and fresh bread and wraps, and have a boxed lunch offering that is a very good value. Right next to the cafe is a large seating area that is an excellent place to take your lunch and sit for a moment. great to take friends for a lunch-time chat, and excellent to have a working lunch with staff or colleagues. Nice, family-run business that serves a very good sandwich.

I can't believe there are not more reviews for this place as this is the only cafe in a 24 story high rise building. I agree with the previous reviews that Boar's Head products are awesome. The soups are great for pre-made soups but everything is overpriced and if you are looking for a quick pick-up for anytime of day, forget about it. You are guaranteed to wait for 15 mins at least. I also agree that the man and the woman who owns it is incredibly rude. They have the mentality that they get enough business that they don't care about you. For example: I have used them several times for catering for meetings and have been disappointed every time. I have even gone as far as calling the order in almost an hour ahead of time. The last straw for me was when I showed up they didn't even begin the order. I stood there for another 25 mins while I watched them fulfill other orders after mine. I also agree that the cashiers are nice but the husband and wife need to learn how to time manage. It would make customers happier and the production quicker. Clueless! They are not cut out for this business!!!

I keep not going back but then every few months I give them another try. Never again!

Oh Manna cafe. What can I say??? You are so convenient and have great Boar's head soups. I love all the cashiers espcially Marina (she's always so nice). I'm not loving the limp spinach on the salad bar or some of the pricing for pastries. The lunch deal is the best value but I don't care for cold cuts (even if they are Boar's Head) so I pass. I also love the breakfast options. I'm stuck on turkey and swiss hot crossaints ($3.65 ouch!).

Unfortuantely, this is the only place to eat in the building that I work at. On the bright side, they serve Boar's Head deli meats and cheeses. They also have a small overpriced salad bar and a few soups to choose from. If you choose to order a boxed lunch or a sandwich then prepare to wait for a good 15 minutes before you receive your food. The cashiers are always nice but the man and woman who I believe own it are incredibly rude.
